Hebrews 11:31 and Joshua 2
You know as Christians we’re on a stage of sorts.
People are always watching how we live. So is there enough F.A.I.T.H. operating in your life to be different?
Remember this is your one life and opportunity to showcase the power of God working in you and through you by His grace and gift of Saving F.A.I.T.H.
This message focuses on the transforming power of F.A.I.T.H.
In chapter 2 of the book of Joshua we find the story of a lady named Rahab who had a wonderful transformation.
Now early on in the story she certainly wasn't a lady because she was a whore, a trashy street walking prostitute.
And she made her living by selling her body down in Jericho, near the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth, where she practiced the lowest profession: prostitution.
So she could be called “The shady lady of Jericho.” and yet, this woman got saved, incredibly saved!
And on top of it all she was a pagan, living in spiritual darkness.
So here was a Canaanite prostitute, living in sexual degradation. And Rahab was destined for divine destruction, because God said He was going to destroy the city she lived in.
And yet, Rahab was so radically and dramatically changed, saved, transformed, that she supernaturally received a pure life.
Then get this!!! This pagan Canaanite, a former whore, marries a prince of Israel, and becomes a great, great grandmother of King David, and part of the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Wow!!! Now that’s an incredible story!
Be sure to tune in to see the three fundamental truths of this supernatural transformation: 1. The Providence that Confronted Her. 2. The Evidence that Convicted Her. And 3. The Confidence that Converted Rahab
This Show is going to look at Rahab woman from Joshua 2 from the current culture at the time of Joshua. You will be amazed at what you learn. Was Rahab a harlot?

Hour of Power Broadcast Study Text : Joshua 2 : 1-24
Key Verse : Joshua 2 : 9-10
And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
How To Function In Faith – The Heart of Rahab
Rahab had three major roles in her heart
1. Rahab was the spokesperson for the Lord – She spoke on God’s behalf
2. Rahab was security for the spies – God used her to secure the spies (verse 5)
3. Rahab became a savior for her family

The very first city to conquer in the Promised Land was Jericho, and God gave very unsual instructions for how to conquer it. There were very strong, fortified walls all around Jericho, and God gave the army instructions that, if followed, would cause the walls to crumble. They didn't all have to build jackhammers or anything like that. It was simple obedience that destroyed the enemy utterly -- but Rahab wasn't forgotten. The prostitute who saved some of God's servants and her family were the only people spared in all of Jericho.
Rahab was a harlot, but she had learned to fear the God of israel. She saved the lives of some Hebrew men, and they promised to save her and her family when God's destruction struck her city. Her saving symbol was a "scarlet cord." The scarlet thread is symbolic of the blood that Jesus shed on the cross so that we might be saved, and foreshadowings of Jesus are throughout the Bible, beginning in Genesis.
New King James Version (NKJV)
17 So the men said to her: “We will be blameless of this oath of yours which you have made us swear, 18 unless, when we come into the land, you bind this line of scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you bring your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household to your own home.
