Durham, NC – When navigating the process of cancer treatment, traditional medicine is not enough. Many patients are shortchanged from learning the lifestyle changes that can improve their quality of life.
Cherry Pfau is the Nurse Cancer Coach. As a professional registered nurse specializing in oncology and advanced holistic practices, Cherry has helped thousands of patients achieve wellness and thrive in survivorship.
"Traditional medicine treats a person as a diagnosis," says Cherry. "Cancer is already such an isolating experience so I think it’s important to honor the whole person.”
Cherry herself was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2008.
“When I first heard the words ‘You have cancer,’ all she could think was ‘I’m going to die,’” recalls Cherry. “In that moment, all my training and years of experience vanished. Emotionally I was in the same place as everyone else.”
But from that day on, Cherry was determined to beat this disease. All of her holistic practices put her in a more positive mindset and helped her focus on changing her lifestyle: decreasing stress, eating healthier, practicing yoga. Today, Cherry is a proud cancer survivor.
Recognizing she was given a second chance, Cherry promised to dedicate her life to help other cancer sufferers. She became a cancer coach to help others stay well during cancer care so they can maintain the quality of life they’re used to while treating their cancer.
"Cancer patients need advocates," says Cherry. “I’m most proud that I can partner with my clients during what can be the most frightening time of their life to help them find a positive outcome."

The New World Order pitch is preventing "terrorists" from getting their hands on dirty bomb materials. But will these leaders be talking about Fukushima or the safety of existing nuclear power plants around the world? March 2016 marks the 5th anniversay of the nuclear melt down at Fukushima Daichi plant in Japan. Recent reports revealed radioactive leaks from nuclear power plants into New York and Florida drinking water sources. There's more trouble ahead as airline pilots, airplanes, and helicopters have developed quickly as radiation has dispersed since March 2011 and the Fukushima meltdown.

RATES OF MELANOMA HAVE BEEN ON THE RISE FOR 30 YEARS
WHAT NEW RESEARCH AND TREATMENT APPROACHES MAY IMPACT THE MELANOMA COMMUNITY?
New findings in Immuno-Oncology will be presented at the upcoming American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting in New Orleans in regard to advanced melanoma. Immuno-Oncology is an innovative field of cancer research, which may lead to treatments that can help the body’s immune system attack melanoma cells more effectively. Experts at the forefront of cancer research are exploring ways to work directly with the body’s immune system to fight cancers like metastatic melanoma.
Metastatic melanoma is the deadliest form of melanoma, which is a form of skin cancer characterized by the uncontrolled growth of pigment-producing cells located in the skin1. The incidence of melanoma has been increasing for at least 30 years, with an estimated 76,380 melanoma cases expected to be diagnosed in the U.S. in 20161.
Steven J. O’Day, MD, Co-Director of Melanoma Program, Melanoma Specialist, Professor of Medical Oncology, Director of Immuno-Oncology, Director of Clinical Research, John Wayne Cancer Institute at Providence Saint John’s Health Center Santa Monica CA, will be available to update your viewers/listeners on the latest news in the fight against melanoma and the burden of this disease.
WHY HAS METASTATIC MELANOMA BEEN SUCH A DIFFICULT DISEASE TO DIAGNOSE AND TREAT? HOW COMMON IS MELANOMA, AND WHAT ARE CURRENT INCIDENCE RATES? WHAT IS IMMUNO-ONCOLOGY AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CURRENT MELANOMA TREATMENTS. NEW DATA ON IMMUNO-ONCOLOGY IN MELANOMA WAS RECENTLY PRESENTED AT THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR CANCER RESEARCH ANNUAL MEETING. WHAT DOES THIS DATA MEAN FOR THE MELANOMA COMMUNITY? WHAT SHOULD PEOPLE WITH MELANOMA, AND/OR THEIR FAMILIES DO TO LEARN MORE ABOUT IMMUNO-ONCOLOGY OR THEIR TREATMENT OPTIONS?
