  • MCMI RADIO: Corey "Bad Seed" Pierson on Acting, Writing, Directing (#ripPH)

    in Music

Corey "Bad Seed" Pierson is known on the underground Hip Hop scene as an MC of considerable talent. In this Interview with longtime friend and collaborator Graeme "GMS" Sibirsky, he talks about how he got into acting, writing and directing his own web series and films, and about losing close friend PH Pumpkinhead.

Corey tells us how he began acting and talks of being hit by a car and how God spoke to him and gave him instructions, which led to him writing the "Book of Job" web series. At the end he explains what led up to him putting the web series on hold momentarily so he could write and put out "Thin Black Line", his controversial movie about police killing black youth in America.

Our next episode will be Part 2, where Corey talks about the significance of the subject matter of Thin Black Line, why it was so important to him that he had to stop what he was doing and do the film, before continuing with the Bible series (after "Book of Job" is "Cane and April"). The movie presents the experience and viewpoints of a young black boy profiled and murdered by a corrupt police officer, the parents, and both good and dirty police officers in the precinct, following the killing. Much like Law and Order, several of the incidents seemed ripped straight out of the news, as police killings have been in the news so often in the past few years. Tune in next week to hear that and then Part 3 will be coming soon.
