    in Politics

Titus 2 Tuesday Welcomes Back FURTESHA CARTER for Metro Council 13 in Nashville, TN
    Get to know Furtesha Carter…
Furtesha Carter is a true “Nashvillian” born and raised. Growing up in Nashville allowed her to inherit a unique appreciation for southern hospitality. Furtesha quotes, “Without God, family and friends what do you have in life? In my world, those are my three focuses.”Whether it be in real estate or volunteer programs, she finds great joy in using the talents God has provided her in order to help people. Furtesha is the proud parent of a teenage daughter and son and is called Momma to many teenagers through Nashville’s Communityfoster care system. She is the founder of a non-profit mentoring program, Sister 2 Sistah that caters to middle-school age girls throughout the Nashville and surrounding communities. Her skill set has provided her vocational opportunities from church secretary to accountant. Her personality has allowed her to be an affective cheerleading coach, PTO president, and community volunteer. Let's Do Lunch! at Lockeland Table

    in Entertainment

Let's Do Lunch! visits Lockeland Table in Nashville, Tennessee; a neighborhood restaurant that features delicious and creative cuisine, and gives back to the community it serves. The home of Lockeland Table is steeped in history going back to the 1930s. It's old world charm is preserved with the original facade, and murals of the previous establishments line brick walls. From 4-6pm they offer a Community Hour; a happy hour menu where a portion of the proceeds benefit Lockeland Springs Elementary School PTO and other local organizations. Some of the snacks to share are whipped goat cheese topped with grilled leeks prepared with butter and worcestershire sauce served with grilled pita, homemade vinegar chips soaked for three days for the ultimate flavor where you can't eat just one, and to-die-for New York Cheese pizza with chili oil that rivals it's namesake.

The dishes have a gourmet flair, exquisitely prepared by Chef Hal who hails from West Virginia and was inspired at five years old spending time in the kitchen with his mother. He says, 'I've been practicing and studying the art and science of culinary production for over half my life now.' The signature dish is grilled Hereford NY strip which Chef says is over 20 years old, 'it's a dish I came up with while in college and it's all about the chimichurri;' which you will want to eat with a spoon! North Carolina mountain trout is seared with the skin on, along with crawfish tails for a southern kick from his time in New Orleans. Save room for dessert with their Samoa Torte; a Girl Scout tribute of shortbread, dark chocolate ganache and coconut mousse, drizzled with caramel and toasted coconut crumbles. Yum!

If you can't make it to Nashville stay tuned for a book in the works with lots of their recipes! Visit http://www.lockelandtable.com/

    PTBoard's Marketing Coordinator Amanda Meer

    in Education

    From PTBoard.com:

We developed ptboard with a single mission: making parents’ lives easier by keeping all their children’s activities in one place. We were tired of receiving and sorting through a hundred emails a day. We were tired of checking several websites to find one kid’s field trip date. Especially with multiple kids, it can be hard to know where and when all their school activities are going on. We want to make it simple for you. Ptboard is here to solve these problems for you.

The founders of ptboard know first hand how busy parents can get. Their children have attended both public and private schools. Private schools deal with different needs than public schools. Because there is a lack of integrated communication, we created this website which can be used for all schools. This site can be used for PTA and PTO organizations.

We developed ptboard in order for parents and teachers to communicate, collaborate, share, and organize anything related to their kids’ schools.

This website can be accessed anywhere, because it can be easily used on smart phones and tablets. It is easy to use, from the large icons to the concise wording.
