A professional paper she wrote was arguably the basis for one of Freud's best known theories. And she was one of the earliest pioneers of child psychoanalysis but today, thanks to the film A Dangerous Method, she's known more for being the lover of Carl Jung. But there is so much more to Sabina Spielrein. She was also the first woman to write a psychoanalytic dissertation, and one of the first female psychoanalysts but her contributions were lost to history for many years. Join me as we explore the torrid and tragic life of Sabina Spielrein, one of the forgotten pioneers of psychoanalysis.

Nina Savelle-Rocklin, Psy.D., is a psychoanalyst who specializes in food, weight and body image issues. A recognized expert in the field of eating disorders, she has been interviewed and quoted in many publications, including The Los Angeles Times, Prevention, Real Simple, and many more. She was one of 20 thought leaders in eating psychology invited to participate in the 2014 Mindful Eating Summit.
Dr. Nina also presented at the prestigious American Psychoanalytic Association’s National Meeting. She is the author of a chapter on psychoanalysis in the upcoming book, “The Couch & The Cushion: What Psychoanalysis & Buddhism Can Learn From Each Other” and is currently writing a book on the psychoanalytic treatment of eating disorders.
