Provision Spot 8 - Time to come to our senses
Luke 15:17 says “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!"
This may seem like a strange passage to be talking about in relation to provision. It is found in the parable of the prodigal son. The son had stooped so low but he had to come to a point of making a decision for himself to change.
The reason to include it is literally there are times when we need to come to our senses and make the tough decisions that need to be made. There are expenses that need to be cut. Areas where money is being wasted or could be better spent.
Provision is not just about receiving more income but cutting the expenses that need to be cut. So my question to you today is what expenses can you cut out of your budget?

Provision Spot 7 - Developing the Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22 – 23 says: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Why talk about the fruits of the Spirit when talking about financial provision?
Because having these fruits of the spirit developed in our lives will also help us to develop good healthy financial practices.
Notice that these are a fruit of the spirit. They result in us having the Holy Spirit in our lives.
So today, ask God for more of His spirit to fill you and for the fruits of the spirit to be evident and at work in your life, giving you the grace that you need to manage what God has entrusted to you. God’s Holy Spirit can and does guide us in making the decisions that we need to make including financial decisions. Ask Him for that guidance today.

Provision Spot 10 - God has a plan to provide for you
Jeremiah 29:11 says: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
God has a plan for your provision. Let me say that again God has a plan for your provision.
Throughout the bible we see that God provided for his people. It was in different ways at different times. Sometimes miraculously by multiplying food or sending ravens. Sometimes through the work of their hands like Paul being a tentmaker or Peter needing to catch a fish.
However God does it he does have a way to provide for you.
So ask him today: "God how do you want to provide for me." Take time to listen for the answer. You may be surprised by what he says. But do not forget to do what he says to do.
Obedience is key to your provision

Provision Spot 1 - Our God is a God who Provides
In Philippians 4:18, Paul encourages the church by saying: “and my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
Paul knew and had seen first hand the provision of God. Our God is a God who provides.
In fact one of God’s names is Jehovah Jireh our provider.
This encompasses the fact that God sees with foreknowledge or He already knows what our needs are. That He is omniscient. That he is all sufficient. That He shall appear. That he is our provision.
Our God is a God who provides.
So my question for you today is: What is it that you need provision for today?
In the Lords Prayer Jesus taught us to pray: “give us today our daily bread.”
Take time right now and ask God for the need that you have to be meet today.

A Whole New Level of Provision
From the start of 2013, I've believed that this year is to be a Year of Abundance.
During this message I share on the fact that God is a God of abundance and not a God of scarcity.
That one of God's names is "Jehovah Jireh" and what does that mean.
Then I work through three different bible passages:
The Widow with the OIl - 2 Kings 4:1-7
Peter and His need to pay taxes - Matthew 17:24-27
The Feeding of the 5000 - Matthew 14:11-21
As we look at each of these passages we see how God provides.
Finally I look at wisdom and the need to ask God for the wisdom that we need to fulfill the task that God is calling us to do.

Provision Spot 9 - Be Strong and Courageous
“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:7-8) This verse makes it very clear to be prosperous and successful you need to meditate on the word of God. Statistics tell us that only 25% of Australian Christians are regular readers of the Bible. Today I want to encourage you to be one of those who do read the word. Why? Because it is literally the book of life. Each time you read it ask God to open your eyes to see the wonderful truth it contains and give you the grace that you need to apply the word to your life today. The solution you need to your financial situation is contained in the Bible. Set time aside to read it today.

Provision Spot 13 - Our God is the God of the Impossible
Luke 18:27 says: “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Are you facing an impossible situation today? Then you are in the best position to receive a miracle. Our God is a God of the possible, not a God of the impossible. Remember that one of God’s characteristics is that He is a creator. He took the earth that was formless and empty, with darkness over the surface of the deep and spoke the world into being. So my question to you today is: Are you facing an impossible situation? Take time, hand the situation back to God. Say to him: “God to me this situation is impossible but to you all things are possible. Give me the wisdom, knowledge and understanding I need to see this impossible situation turn around to something that is possible.” Remember that our God is a creator God.

Provision Spot 11 - Taking the land requires action
When Joseph interpreted Pharoah's dream in Genesis 40 he encouraged Pharaoh to find a wise and discerning man to be put in charge so that the bounty can be saved during the years of plenty to see them through in the years of lack.
This plan succeeded only because of the administration skills and wisdom and discernment that Joseph had.
It is one thing to receive a word from God or direction from God. It is a very different thing to carry that word through into reality and to take the land. Today I want to encourage you to take what God has spoken to you about and put the appropriate action plans in place to see it through to fulfilment. Constantly ask for Gods's wisdom and discernment along the way as well as the skills needed to see it turn from a prophetic word into reality. Time to take the land promised to you.

Provision Spot 6 - Thankfulness Prepares the Way
Psalm 50:23 says: “Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and prepares his way so that I will show God's salvation to him”.
Did you hear that? When you give thanks, it honors God and it prepares the way for your salvation to come.
Each of us needs salvation of some form. It may be salvation for our very soul. But it may be salvation from the situation we are in financially or any other difficult situation.
The key here is having a thankful heart. We give thanks to God but also when we give thanks to others it is honoring God, because we are honoring his creation.
Each person is created by God. We are all formed by God in our mothers wombs. When you thank another person, you are also thanking God.
So what can you give thanks to God for today? And who can you write a message of thankfulness to today?
Your thankfulness prepares the way for your salvation to come.
