    The Week in a Nutshell

    in Politics Conservative

Its been a busy week since the blood moon. While many thought it a sign of apocyliptic magnitude, it certainly ushered in a week of events of global, and long lasting, significance.

It seems Russia has stepped up and is attempting to fulfill the former US role as protector of the oppressed. So what is Putin up to?

The new unemployment numbers are out and there are 96 million out of the workforce, 52 million women. What is the long term effect of those stats and what does it say about the economy?

It was formerly "UN Aenda 21" but now its "Agenda 2030." Concern for the planet and its inhabitants or New World Order?

Finally, a tragedy in Oregon that brings out President Obama...but with facts or a political agenda?

UDL: Pressing Yusuf's First Shirt (Special Study Edition) Part 3

    in Education

Sahih International: O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private parts. Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe.

Satan stripped Adam of his original clothes.  Then comes the evil corruption and death of sin; the death we die because of our sins.  Death is the loss of the innocent sensitivities and conscience of a Muslim (3: 102).

Sahih International: Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."

    Love Always Protects

[Love] always protects. – 1 Corinthians 13:7 NIV

Marriage is made up of many things, including joys, sorrows, successes, and failures.  But when you think about what you want marriage to be like, the furthest thing from your mind is a battleground.  However, there are some battles you should be more than willing to fight.  These are battles that pertain to protecting your spouse.

Unfortunately your marriage has enemies out there.  They come in different forms and use different strategies, but nonetheless they will conspire to destroy your relationship unless you know how to ward them off.

Some are clever and seem attractive, only to undermine your love and appreciation for one another.  Others try to lure your heart away from your spouse by feeding you unhealthy fantasies and unrealistic comparisons.  It’s a battle you must wage to protect your marriage – when love puts on armor and picks up a sword to defend its own.  Your mate and your marriage need your constant protection from things like.....tune in to hear! • Gurutej Singh talks about the Baba Siri Chand Mantra for Protection

    in Music

In the early days of Kundalini Yoga practice, we were taught to chant the mantra Alak Baba Siri Chand de Rakh (only once per day) in times where we felt psychically attacked.  We know to be careful about this.  This mantra calls upon the assistance of Baba Siri Chand, who is known to have been the protector of the Sikhs and was one of the sons of Guru Nanak, the first Sikh Guru.  Gurutej Singh, as an early student of Yogi Bhajan’s, has great knowledge of this chant.  He and I will discuss his knowledge and experience of this practice as well as share about some different variations and uses of this mantra.

BIO: Gurutej Singh Khalsa is a yogi, warrior, entrepreneur, poet, healer, and teacher. He was a personal aide and bodyguard to Yogi Bhajan and traveled the world with him in that capacity. Gurutej is also the Founder of Akal Security, Inc., which was the largest privately held security services contractor in the United States as well as the largest single provider of protective services to the Federal government of the United States. Having learned directly from Yogi Bhajan, Gurutej is an international teacher of Kundalini Yoga and meditation as taught by Yogi Bhajan, as well as the warrior fitness training that he learned from Yogiji. Gurutej is the author of two books: Children of the Cusp, a collection of poetry about his experiences as a student of Yogi Bhajan; and Rajni, an historical spiritual novel about the powers of love, sacrifice, and transformation. Rajni was awarded the Gold Seal of Literary Excellence. Gurutej has been listed on the Sikh 100; number 24 among the one-hundred most influential Sikhs in the world. He lives in Singapore with his wife and son.

Host Lori Hays is very excited to welcome Stephanie Keyes on Reverie Radio to celebrate the her newest release on one of Lori's favorite seires.

Stephanie Keyes grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and spent years traveling and working as a Corporate Trainer before she made the decision to pen her first novel. As a teen, her family always accused her of having an “overactive imagination.” Now, she’s encouraged to keep her head in the clouds and share her world with readers. Keyes is the author of the YA Fantasy series, The Star Child, which currently includes The Star Child, After Faerie, The Fallen Stars, and The Star Catcher, all from by Inkspell Publishing. The Fallen Stars was a 2013 semi-finalist in the Kindle Book Awards. The Star Child has topped the Amazon best-seller list several times since its 2012 release. Steph writes YA novels because she’s a hopeless romantic who lives to believe that Magick truly does exist. She is hard at work on a new YA novel.

Dear Pastor, Can I Come to Your Church?  A Spiritual Church Leader "THE PASTOR"  The Pastor is not GOD. Know GOD. Know your PASTOR Spiritual leader.

    1 Peter 5:1–4

One of Jesus' favorite metaphors for spiritual leadership, one He often used to describe Himself, was that of a shepherd--a person who tends God's flock. A shepherd leads, feeds, nurtures, comforts, corrects, and protects--responsibilities that belong to every church leader. In fact, the word pastor means shepherd.

Shepherds Are Rescuers Shepherds Are Feeders Shepherds Are Leaders

Shepherds Are Protectors Shepherds Are Comforters

The Good Shepherd and His Undershepherds

Jesus is the perfect example of a loving shepherd. He epitomizes everything that a spiritual leader should be. Peter called Him the "Chief Shepherd" (1 Peter 5:4). He is our great Rescuer, Leader, Guardian, Protector, and Comforter.

Dear Pastor, Can I Come to Your Church?  A Spiritual Church Leader "THE PASTOR" The Pastor is not GOD. Know GOD. Know your PASTOR Spiritual leader.

  • Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1175

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Reverend Larry Ross from Gerald, Missouri, Vice President of "Knights for the Innocent" and National Chaplain and the Founder of the "Pay it Forward" TV channel ministry on You Tube. Larry grew in a single parent home with a drunk abusive father and 2 little brothers after his mother took off. "Dad was always angry and drunk when not at work and would beat us at the drop of a hat," he says. "I remember him beating my Mom so bad that I grabbed his 22. cal revolver and made him stop." The years of sexual abuse he experienced came from a man his Dad and Mom knew. "They made us call him 'Uncle Don'." At around 13 he discovered the world of drugs and drinking. One evening his Dad started to beat on his littlest brother. "I just snapped, breaking his noise and eye socket and hitting him over and over until I thought he was dead. I jumped up and ran down to Dixie's apartment, who is now my wife." At this point they've been together 29 years. She had two young children who'd been sexually abused by her ex-husband. "I know God put me in their house to be their protector," Larry says. It took a while but he got himself on a better path. "I didn't even really look for God," says Larry, "he found me after I spent my life doing drugs drinking and selling weed." Tragedy in his family didn't stop him. "It's all cogs on a wheel that God has planned for my life because now I get the honor of standing up for those too afraid to reach out and ask for help themselves."

Our reflection this week is 'Our Place in The World'

We, as were many, were saddened, sickened and angered by the cruel murder of Cecil The Lion by a trophy hunter. Let us take this opportunity to affirm our oneness with all and embrace a role as protector and a guardian.
