    Protect Our Defenders

    in Health

Protect Our Defenders is a human rights organization. We honor, support and give voice to the brave women and men in uniform who have been raped or sexually assaulted by fellow service members. We seek to fix the military training, investigation and adjudication systems related to sexual violence and harassment systems that often re-victimize assault survivors by blaming them while failing to prosecute perpetrators. Our troops protect us and we must protect them.
Our effort is directly informed by our work with victims, survivors, their families and retired military. We research and expose dysfunction in the military training, investigation, adjudication and veterans service systems related to rape, sexual assault and harassment. We educate the public and policy makers on the problems related to these issues along with potential solutions. Sexual violence in the military is often not adequately investigated or prosecuted and victims are often blamed, pushed out of the service and denied benefits. We amplify survivors’ voices, enabling them to share their stories with the American people, elected representatives and military leadership.
We help survivors find appropriate services and support initiatives to improve victim and survivor care through our survivor support network, forums and e-library. We provide opportunities for these individuals, their families and advocates to organize and support each other through community building projects and events. We mentor and provide small grants to enhance these efforts. And finally we support policy initiatives to fundamentally reform how the Department of Defense (DOD) deals with sexual harassment, rape and sexual assault.

    Who will protect our children?

    in Family

Phillis T. Forrest is a native of Detroit, MI and author of Through A Child’s Eyes. Her objective is to educate and bring awareness to society about child sexual predators that mothers may unintentionally bring into their lives. In her book, she takes you inside her 14 year nightmare so you can clearly understand exactly what her predator did to her and how he was able to do it.

This is not a story of a downward spiral of a little girl that grew up broken, homeless, drug addicted, or abusive. Rather, this is a story of a woman that, when the smoke cleared, realized that she had been raised by a sexual predator. Using the vast knowledge of his deceitful tactics that he used to trap his victims, Ms. Forrest penned his manipulation, dissected strategies of how he became part of her family and destroyed family’s bonds.

Breaking the Chains.....Our Lives, Our Pain Re-Imagined

    in Motivation

The "I have a dream speech by Martin L.King debuted in Detroit over fifty years ago on June 23, 1963 and changed the course of this nation, and re-imagined what was possible. Born that same year on July 23rd, I recently celebrated my 52nd Birthday, and realize that my life has been engulfed inside the Civil Rights, and parallels closely with the transformation I endured causing me to re-imagine the little black girl born in 1963 also,

Today we are sharing about the healing that must occur between these two cultures that caused such strong divisional lines of hatred, distrust, and pain merely based on skin tone. Although our nation has become much more diverse and Civil Rights are being fought for so many more, we still have a core pain in cities across the nation that still reek with the racial tension of the past.

Today, let's look at racial reconciliation and find ways to re-imagine ourselves, our cities and our nation.

What's possible for us today should we have dialogue about the pain we have both experienced? Our featured guest, poet and author Alicea Davis has a special message for healing our communities and racial reconciliation. Join me as she shares what she has re-imagined for us here in Detroit, and the work she's doing to close the gap in our consciousness so we see ourselves anew - as citizens of the same family. May we all remember our Divine heritage, our spiritual birthrights, and co-creative powers for creating a miraculous world.

Let's re-imagine our self-image, re-create our belief in everyone's worthiness, and choose to live in excellent communities that flourish abundantly with knowledge, intelligence and resources to be self-sustaining.

The LGBTQ Agenda & How It Affects Children

with Host Pearl Corbin and her guests, Viviana Hernandez & Myrna Calderon

Tonight will be the second installment of what is now a three-part series.  This show will focus on how the LGBTQ agenda is very targeted on influencing and recruiting children, as young as kindergarten, in the LGBTQ way. Listeners to this broadcast will be informed on the rigorous and, sad to say, very effective way this blasphemous agenda has pushed its way right into the classroom and seeks to indoctrinate our boys and girls to experiment and question their God given gender.  Anyone who cares about their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or just children in general should listen to this special broadcast. The host, along with her two guests will also discuss positive ways you and I can resist this evil directed at our children, training and equipping them to stand their ground in the midst of this crooked and perverse environment.   Lord willing, on August 14th @ 7 PM, we would like to conclude this special series on Evang. Montell Fields' Reaching Out Radio with the LGBTQ agenda & How It Affects the Church
