The news is blowing up of news of children being stolen off the streets, running away and getting tricked over social media. How do we as a community protect our children better? Are we letting our children have too much access to the world? What do you know about your neighbors and the people who socialize with your neighbors? Can you even trust your neighbors have your best interest in mind? Will your neighbor report things they see your children do, like sneak people in the house?
HERE WE DISCUSS HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN FROM EVEN THE THINGS THAT WE CAN NOT SEE. HOW IT IS EQUALLY IMPORTANT TO BE MINDFUL OF THE PEOPLE YOU HANG AROUND, THE THINGS YOU EXPOSE YOUR FAMILY TOO AND YOUR OWN MENTALITY WHEN IT COMES TO THINGS. THERE ARE ENERGIES ON THE PLANET THAT ARE EVIL AND OPPORTUNISTIC AND DO NOT DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THE YOUNG. IN FACT, MANY EVIL SPIRITS PREFER YOUNG SOULS. WALK WITH ME AS WE TAKE A JOURNEY INTO THE REALM OF UNDERSTANDING OUR ROLE AS PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS WHEN IT COMES TO THE SPIRITUAL WELL-BEING OF OUR CHILDREN,
Join us on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. in morning for a conversation with the Founder of "The Feed Our Children Ministries, Pastor Moses Brown. Feed Our Children Ministries is committed to being a source of support to economically disadvantaged children and their families, the homeless, and the elderly. The vision of FOC Ministries is to equip each individual we contact with the tools necessary in realizing their unlimited potentials. To leave no one hungry physically or spiritually and to enable each one we serve with the ability to serve someone else in need.
With an immediate goal to restore the families of each individual served, the long term goals of FOC Ministries are a return back to the community of individuals and families served to provide assistance to other families in need. To acquire a homeless shelter and be able to service more families with our products and services and to provide food shelter for orphans in third world countries as well as other services.
The food is given to the people at no cost to them. Further, the purpose of the food program is to feed the poor, not to grow our church. The food provided generally consists of fresh produce, cereals, breads, packaged goods, juices, canned goods, snacks, chips, candies, etc. The food boxes (usually a combination of boxes and bags) normally contain between 30-50 pounds of these food items.

Who is the ultimate authority in a child's life - the parents or the State? When Dorothy Austin, mother of two sons, was falsely accused of having a psychological illness, she found herself in a seven year battle with the State of Illinois over custody of her son Shamir, then an eight year old child. Deprived of his mother after seven years, Shamir, now a 15 year old teenager, is desperate to come home. But the State simply will not let him go. Today, Dorothy Austin is fighting back. She has joined forces with supporters and other parents and launched a national organization: PROTECT, which stands for Parental Rights Organization To End Children's Tears. This organization was founded to raise money for legal fees for parents whose parental rights were wrongfully terminated, and to investigate and expose those attorneys, judges, and social service agency officials who knowingly make decisions that destructively tear families apart. Today, Ms. Austin discusses her fundraising efforts to enable her to hire the competent attorney who will help get her son Shamir back, and pursue punitive damages against those responsible for him being held hostage by the State for seven years. Her organization PROTECT will provide support for other parents in similar situations. Jerry Nicholas, father of six, shares his story of a 20 year battle for his parental rights. He exposes the economic incentive that makes State agencies become destroyers of children and families.
Living in the south, with all its charms, traditions and iconography does not offer access into certain aspects of her history, especially when that history involves discussions around the Civil War and the Confederacy. The inability to rake through the smoldering ashes of a war fought 150 years ago, allows for a one-sided narrative that sometimes misrepresents the causes for war, the people - enslaved and free - who lived through the war and and its aftermath. Although it is a necessary, and some might add, long overdue undertaking, it is also anxiety ridden, especially within the black community.
How can parents of color approach this subject and explain to their children a war fought over, among other things, a system of that relegated their ancestors to permanent servitude?
Today, the Mommy Chronicles is on site as the Alabama State University Department of History and Political Science explores those issues by examining the Civil War history at its first Confederate Memorial Day "Mini" Conference.

In this episode Lisa A. Romano, Certified ACoA Life Coach, Mentor and Author helps we wounded Adult Children from dysfunctional homes understand how we can use pain to help us transcend our wounds and how by 'reframing' how we experience our pain can also speed along our total recovery.
If you have been lost, hang in there as Lisa explains the purpose of pain and how we can learn to appreciate duality in our lives.
As Lisa explains, there can be no understanding of light without some understanding of darkness. There can be no integration without understanding ideas of separation. There can be no experience of contentment without some experience of discontentment. It is our hope that by listening to this recording as well as many of Lisa's others, that your ideas about self, your past, healing, and about recovery will help you reframe your perceptions about pain for the purpose of healing completely.
Listen this week as Janice shares her personal story of healing and awakening. Her determination to help her son to thrive led to the empowering answers and solutions that doctors are not talking about.
Janice Carlin is an author, teacher, healer and intuitive channel. The information she brings forth to share is empowering and for many, life changing. The messages gently cut through limiting beliefs to make room for people to be able to live with vitality, to heal themselves and their children, and better our world. Janice uniquely bridges the gap between science and spirituality, teaching ways that sensitive people can work effectively with multidimensional energy to help themselves and their sensitive children to thrive. Her approach to sensitivity is unique, as she comes from a place of deep experiential knowledge through her own extremely high sensitivity, as well as her son's. www.empoweredthriving.com
The headlines are all over the newspapers..."Another police shooting." East Coast...West Coast...all across these United States! It seems that carrying a badge and a gun gives some police officers the right to think they are all "James Bond" with a "license to kill." Whatever happened to the "old time" beat cop who knew everyone by name? There was respect back then. Now, especially for people of color, there is an inherent fear of the police. I say these things as the proud parent of an N.Y.P.D. officer. I know how my son was raised...to respect the rights of others, and I trust that when the time comes, as Spike Lee said, he will "do the right thing." Call us with your comments at 646-595-3275.
