Each week, join me on this common path of awareness, consciousness and compassion, as we consider this journey of Spiritual beings having a Human Experience. Who am I? Why am I here? How can I experience more joy, happiness and abundance when there is so much suffering in the world? This weekly call-in show provides a means to (1) ask questions, (2) get practical, logical information to use right away, (3) to affect significant change.
No matter the current life circumstances, we can start here, now to change all that. Life wants us to thrive -- and it helps us! The only thing standing in the way is us! More to the point, our beliefs (which lead to the thoughts we focus on, which lead to our emotions, which lead to our behavior) -- conscious and unconscious -- could be inhibiting the natural flow of abundance, prosperity, joy, happiness -- all the symbols of Life in action in the material world! What we focus on expands, and our beliefs (thoughts we keep thinking because of what we've experienced in the past, or been taught by strong influences in our world) powerfully and effectively guide what we focus on. We can change our beliefs, and our thoughts, and our lives, as a result. "Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change."
So write down those questions, and join me each week! With practice, determination and focus, we have the power inside us to live the Life we desire!

author Dr. Karsonya Wise Whitehead ! In Notes from a Colored Girl Dr. Whitehead examines the life and experiences of Emilie Frances Davis, a freeborn twenty-one-year-old black woman, through a close reading of three pocket diaries she kept from 1863 to 1865. Since there are few primary sources written by black women during this time in history, Davis's diary--though ordinary in its content--is rendered extraordinary simply because it has survived to be included in this very small class of resources.
Whitehead's extensive analysis illuminates the lives of many through the simple words of one.
Whitehead explores Philadelphia's free black community in the nineteenth century. Although Davis's daily entries are sparse, brief snapshots of her life, Whitehead interprets them in ways that situate Davis in historical and literary contexts that illuminate nineteenth-century black American women's experiences. Whitehead's contribution of edited text and original narrative fills a void in scholarly documentation of women who dwelled in spaces between white elites, black entrepreneurs, and urban dwellers of every race and class. Since there are few primary sources written by black women during this time in history, Davis's diary--though ordinary in its content--is rendered extraordinary simply because it has survived to be included in this very small class of resources. Whitehead's extensive analysis illuminates the lives of many through the simple words of one.
