Albert William Vogt III was born in Winfield, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, on January 28, 1980. He lived there until the age of ten when his family moved to Florida. Despite being transplanted, he continued to root for Chicago sports team and loved returning to the land of his birth whenever possible. He also grew to love history, mostly because of his father, who would feed his head of tales of Napoleon and the Grand Armee. It was that love of history that led him to pursue a PhD in American History at Loyola University in Chicago.
While at Loyola, Albert concentrated on cultural and social history. He wrote his dissertation, titled "The Costumed Catholic: Catholics, Whiteness, and the Movies, 1928-1973," which focuses on how Catholics have been portrayed on American film throughout much of the twentieth century. It was enough to earn him his PhD, which was officially conferred in August of 2013.
After Loyola, Albert returned to Florida where he teaches at the University of South Florida - St. Petersburg in the history department, and online for St. Leo University. He also has a novel coming out through Tate Publishing titledBob the Time Traveler. He also has a history consulting firm that he runs with his business partner, Jacob K. Friefeld, called Of Historical Interest.
I think that should cover it. My business website is www.ofhistoricalinterest.com.
