Cliff Stewart knows his stuff. I’ve worked with many of his contemporaries who have studied under such masters as Dan Inosanto, and at the same time Cliff was there. The martial arts world can be a jealous place, with more than its share of prima donnas. Yet, from Graciela Casillas to Paul Vunak, each of Cliff’s contemporaries I’ve spoken with gives Stewart the highest praise. It’s a rare man who can be that well liked and that highly respected at the same time in such an ego-charged environment. It says a lot for the grace and professionalism of Casillas and Vunak, but it says even more about Cliff Stewart.
Cliff Stewart possesses an awesome degree of knowledge and destructive power. The point he drives into his W.A.R. students is that possessing power doesn’t mean that you have to use it. Often, he makes clear, the greatest expression of that power is to dominate a threatening situation to the point that you don’t need to unleash it. Avoidance, he points out, is the ultimate victory.

In this episode of the overcome your limits radio show, Christopher E Powell interviews Author and Anti-Bullying Speaker about her story and about her special relationship with a unique canine companion.
Gabrielle Ford never dreamed that a long-eared coonhound could change her life. But that’s just what happened when she cared for her ailing pet Izzy and found the voice to help others in need as a nationally-known motivational speaker. Today Gabe’s incredible story has drawn media attention from The Today Show, Cosmopolitan Magazine and Animal Planet, among others. Her 2009 autobiography Still Dancing shares even more of the inspirational details from her life as a way to encourage others that anything is possible.
As a child, Gabrielle loved dance and dreamed of becoming a prima ballerina. That dream was shattered by a rare genetic neuromuscular disease, Friedreich’s Ataxia which would eventually place her in a wheelchair. Gabe not only struggled with the devastation of the illness, but also endured constant and cruel bullying from classmates. The constant torment took her on a path of depression and isolation.
That all changed when Izzy, a long-eared coonhound pup, entered Gabe’s life and landed them on Animal Planet TV. Izzy became Gabe’s best friend and constant companion. When this special friend mysteriously developed a condition mirroring Gabe’s, Gabe re-entered the world to get Izzy the best treatment available.
Speaking out for the voiceless Izzy gave her the courage to speak out for another voiceless group: the thousands of children bullied in American schools every day.

Following Prima Donna’s extensive touring with Green Day, GD offered up their own Jingletown Recorders studio in Oakland for Prima Donna to use, and enlisted their head engineer, Chris Dugan, to guide the journey. The end result is the 12-song, Dugan-produced Bless this Mess. The single, “Feral Children,” was mixed by Grammy winner D. Sardy (Jet, Wolfmother, Slayer, Noel Gallagher, many more), and sonically calls to mind his most successful achievements. “I Don’t What You to Love Me” from Prima Donna’s first album After Hours was the opening credit music for the Showtime Comedy special Vegas is My Oyster, and Little Steven proclaimed Prima’s song “Demoted” as the #2 “Coolest Song in the World 2010” on his Underground Garage syndicated radio show. In 2012, they were # 1 on L.A. powerhouse station KROQ's Local's Only Chart, and mounted.
