Coming up on this week's edition of the G3 Podcast:
-Useless Multiplayer: Does every game coming out nowadays really need multiplayer functionality, especially when it doesn't add anything to the game outside of another play mode, and is universally panned by everybody? It's a trend you've seen in games like Assassin's Creed III, Tomb Raider and now God of War Ascension - Games that were typically single player campaigns with this added "bonus." If these games were a vehicle, would multiplayer mode be a helpful sidecar, or a parking boot?
-God of War Ascension...is out, and the reception has been mixed. Following up on its last major game that has been owned by approximately 10% of all PS3 owners, will the same numbers flock to this one? We'll also throw out and discuss some of our favorite franchises over time that need definite prequel treatment, or some games that would have had really crappy or funny prequels.
-Nintendo's console incentive purchase system, which you've seen very heavily with the 3DS. Nintendo will be releasing a special edition Pokemon 3DS to coincide the release of the new Mystery Dungeon Game, and are offering incentives to buyers of the console and the 2 games that come out March 24th. We'll chat about the incentive, and whether this might keep happening for Nintendo consoles
-Christine says she's finished her PayDay review, just in time for a sequel. Could this be for real? We'll ask her and get her thoughts on the upcoming sequel too.
-A quick UFC 158 preview with Matt and Adam
All this, and our weekly Amazing Race update from Team Bromance Eh.

ok i am iffy about disney taking over the films of star wars and indiana jones. i grew up with these movie i told myself i wanted to be a real life indiana jones. but now that disney bought the rights and films from mr lucas i am wondering why he did that. i know he said after the other star wars movies he was done. i can't blame him he wanted to move on and do other things. and when harrison ford came back in the fourth indiana jones movie. kingdom of the cystral skull it wasn't a indiana jones movie. but now they found someone to make 7'8'9 of star wars movie. j.j arbhams the same film maker who doing the new star trek movies. i am wondering on how u going do his take on it. plus who from the old cast is coming back. so far it been talk that mark, harrison, billy dee williams are coming back but no word on carrie fisher. now sam jacksons want come back as his jedi master he play mace windu. to me leave it alone we got the books out there and how much more can u do with the star wars movies. now what does the future hold for indiana jones. is harrison ford coming back or they want do three prequels. if they go that route i say bring in brenden fraser as young indiana jones and for markus have eddie izzard the guy who set up the digs and jones finding stuff. and have the third movie end where ark is begging. but i am iffy on what going on with disney star wars and indiana jones movies they want to do. but like i say i give it a chance. if they play there cards right it might be good if they rush it then i am not going.
This week, Scottscope celebrates Black History Month a few days early with an in-depth look at the current state of Black cinema! Have Spike Lee’s contributions to the form been properly acknowledged? Does he overestimate his own value as a filmmaker? Why does he feel the need to openly criticize his peers? Are Black filmmakers taking their craft seriously, or are they treating it like a hustle? Should Black film critics feel obligated to give good reviews to Black movies regardless of quality? Should Black audiences feel obligated to support Black movies regardless of quality and content? Has Tyler Perry been unfairly criticized by his peers?
We’ll also talk about J.J. Abrams being hired to direct Star Wars: Episode VII. Is he the right choice? Can he pull it off? Will he take a different approach to the material than he did with Star Trek? Will this cause the rivalry between the Star Wars and Star Trek fans to intensify? Will he take a dark and serious approach to material, a la The Empire Strikes Back, or will he veer more in the direction of the prequels? Can his first Star Trek movie be considered a Star Wars rip-off given the obvious influence? Can he bring the franchise back to its former glory?
The roundtable will discuss the recent drive-by shooting attempt on Rick Ross’s life in Fort Lauderdale. Could Ross find himself being Hip-Hop’s next casualty? Are the Gangster Disciples finally making good on their threats? Should Ross consider changing his rapper image? Should he retire from Hip-Hop altogether? Should aspiring rappers take heed and adjust their persona accordingly? Is 50 Cent right about this incident being staged Ross? Is the whole thing a hoax?
