The Flesh and Demons: Work Together; to carry out Satan's plan in our lives.

The flesh is the gateway to the demonic. Many times (unless it is generational, etc.), it is through the flesh that demons gain entrance into a person's life.

Why did David invite Bathsheba over for a quiet evening in the presidential suite and ignore the warning from his attendants (2 Samuel 11:2-3). He conveniently missed breaking free from captivity of lust. Joseph, on the other hand, ran out of the house when Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce him (Genesis 39:11-12). The Bible commands, “Flee the evil desires of youth” (2 Timothy 2:22).

Faith: “In the same way, reckon yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:11).

Bhyy- Influences Part 1: Women of the Bible who were Negative Influences

    in Culture

Women have the power to either help change the world, or turn it upside down. It is very important that we’re using our influence for good and not for evil. Today we’re taking a look at some of the women of the bible who were a negative influence to their husbands, households, or communities. Next week, in Part 2, we'll be looking at women who were positive influences.

We will be reading from Edith Deen’s “All of the Women of the Bible” along with the scriptures to capture an understanding of how this came to be. Some women up for review are: Eve, Job's Wife, Potiphar's Wife, Herodias, Jezebel

    Genesis 39:1-9
1  Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.
2  The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3  And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand.
4  So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.

    Genesis 41:49-52 NKJV
49  Joseph gathered very much grain, as the sand of the sea, until he stopped counting, for it was immeasurable.
50  And to Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On, bore to him.
51  Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: "For God has made me forget all my toil and all my father's house."
52  And the name of the second he called Ephraim: "For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction."

    Rom 12:3 NKJV
3  For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

False Accusations and You (Genesis 39)

    in Christianity

Joseph has been sold into slavery, and he becomes a huge blessing to Potiphar's household.  Everything he does is so excellent, Potiphar leaves absolutely everything in his charge.  But Joseph is a very handsome young man, and Poriphar's wife tries repeatedly to seduce him.  Finally, she falsely accuses him of raping her because of his refusal to give in to her advances.  What does Joseph do?  Does he become full of bitterness?  No!  He carries on with the same behavior as before, and he trusts God with all of the terrible betrayals of the people in his life.

    Gen 39:1-9 NKJV
1  Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.
2  The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3  And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand.
4  So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.
5  So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field.
6  Thus he left all that he had in Joseph's hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.
7  And it came to pass after these things that his master's wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, "Lie with me."
8  But he refused and said to his master's wife, "Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand.
9  There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"
