Pope Francis and members of congress are narcissists

    in Music

I call the ability to hear both oneself and others bilateral (2-sided) listening.  Narcissistic listening is one-way, listening to myself only, listening.    When differences arise, folks who do bilateral listening are pros at taking into consideration both their concerns and others'.  This bilateral listening ability enables them to routinely seek and create win-win solutions, which in turn sustains their relationships with on-going goodwill.  For instance, if you are tired, you would listen to that feeling and head for bed.  At the same time if you have just received a call from a friend who has a problem and urgently wants to talk with you, you might suggest that the two of you talk for a few minutes now, and aim to talk more at length in the morning.  Or with a more gentle, "Yes I hear that you want to talkbut I'm just too tired.  In the latter case you seemed to be hearing your friend's request, and then your but minimized, dismissed and discarded the data about the friend's need.   Narcissistic folks can be generous.  Narcissistic folks actually are often very generous.  They may, for instance, give away large sums of money to charity.  Generous giving makes the giver feel good and also feels appropriate, like "the right" thing to do.  They may well therefore pride themselves on their compassion and altruism. Often too, selfish-takeover ignites tendency to war

    St. Benedict The Moor

    in Religion

Rebroadcast of the long running radio program, "The Ave Maria Hour", a presentation of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. www.AtonementFriars.org

Benedict the Moor was born a slave near Messina, Italy. He was freed by his master, became a solitary, eventually settling with other hermits at Montepellegrino. He was made superior of the community, but when he was about thirty-eight, Pope Pius IV disbanded communities of solitaries and he became a Franciscan lay brother. He cooked at St. Mary's convent near Palermo. He was appointed against his will, superior of the convent when it opted for the reform, though he could neither read nor write. After serving as superior, he became a novice master but asked to be relieved of his post and returned to his former position as cook. His holiness, reputation for miracles, and his fame as a confessor brought hordes of visitors to see the obscure and humble cook. He died at the convent, was canonized in 1807, and is the patron saint of blacks in the United States. The surname "the Moor" is a misnomer originating from the Italian IL MORO (the black.) His feast day is April 4th.

O YE DRYBONES : Black The Untold History with CHIEF WARHORSE

    in Current Events

Historians and archaeologist have confirmed that the first people in the Americas were black. Does this mean the indigenous Americans are black? Yes. Although this information has been kept from us, our true identity is starting to unfold. For years we’ve been told that we arrived to the Americas by slave ship, when in fact most of us were already here. Is it possible that the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade is a fictitious story used to trick indigenous black people out of their homelands and history?“…Omission, not distortion, is the far more serious culprit in hiding the story of the black Indians of America.” Williams Lorenz Katz, Black Indians. Many black people who trace their heritage will not find any African slavery in their family. It’s also not a coincidence that many of us blacks have been told by an elder in our family that, “We have Indian in our blood.” There were no ‘red Indians’ until the colonizers began mixing with the indigenous blacks. Below is a short list of black native tribes:

Queen Chief Warhorse (Elwin Green Gillum) is chief of the Chata tribe. She resides in New Orleans and is very vocal about the injustices the indigenous (black) Americans receive from the government. In a television broadcast, Chief Warhorse said:

“The first thing you have to do is go through being classified as crazy. The United States has fixed it so if anything is not by their rule, it’s crazy…”
