As we get rolling with our new Radio Neteork, Philmchology comes back on the air Saturdays starting October 11th at 7 PM Pacific time/ 8 PM Mountain Time/ 9 PM Central/ 10 PM Eastern. This month we will be looking at one of the horror movie great directors John Carpenter. Since we're only going to have a few weeks in October we'll stretch it on into November a few weeks as well to make sure to include his apocolypse trilogy. For now let's take a look at the most well known movie by the horror master himself and Debra Hill (God rest her soul): Halloween (Click on word for trailer)
Halloween changed our thoughts on horror when John Carpenter illuminated the fun, scary, then terrifying aspects of being a teenager on the scariest night of the year! Most of us can remember our first memories of Halloween. The excitement of dressing up with very simple costumes and the creepy plastic masks that left wet condensation on your face when you tried to breathe. Walking at night in the streets seeing friends from school was like a gigantic block party without all the parents (most of us has older siblings to take us about or they went with someone esle's older siblings) Halloween belonged to us kids and you had one objetive to get as many treats as you could carry. I would say candy, but back in the mid to late 1960's people still gave fruit, homemade popcorn balls, cookies, fudge etc. It used to be a night just as fun for the people giving out the treats as us who were receving them. John Carpenter and Debra Hill started a movement that reminded us horror doesn't have to take place in outter space it can be just as dangerous at home! Bring your po, punch & Join us!

Tips for Lawyers 101: How to Become the Trusted Advisor & Make an Impression That Lasts
In this conversation we will be reviewing the ways in which lawyers can quickly become the trusted adviser with clients instead of just an attorney. Too often attorneys are spending thousands of dollars on SEO, Social Media and website design without ever giving a second thought to customer experience. But, here is the hard truth: No one wants another service or product. They want an experience! And by delivering this experience, you are not only positioning yourself as distinct and different but you are also validating your clients needs which securely places you as a trusted adviser.
So, the question remains: How do you create these experiences?
Deborah Asseraf is Founder & CEO of Popcorn Productions, an experiential marketing company helping lawyers, financial advisers and lawyers break through the noise and claim their spotlight through strong, fun & innovative marketing strategies. After working for three years at ABC Television coordinating large-scale galas & concerts, Deborah decided she had her fill of cookie cutter events and started Popcorn Productions in 2013.
Through a combination of laser-focused marketing strategies and creation of innovative exercises and interactive activities, Popcorn Productions helps service professionals stand out from the crowd. Deborah also hosts a bi-monthly women's networking event, PopEvents, and writes for Epoch Times through her blog Social Pulse.
