    Paul McFadden is Chief Operations Officer and Co-Founder of Zero Point Leadership™, a science-based leadership development & coaching firm with foundations in neuroscience, intelligent stress management and social intelligence.     He earned his Result Professional Coach Certification (RPCC) from the NeuroLeadership Group, earned his Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credentials from the International Coach Federation (ICF) and is a HeartMath® Certified Trainer through the Institute of HeartMath®. Paul also holds active PMP® and ITIL® Expert certifications as well as has been trained in Black Belt Six Sigma Methodologies.

    Cove Point 20 - Courting Change

    Twenty Cove Point Protectors went to court this week  as a result of non-violent actions they took to raise awareness & build resistance to the construction of a new gas refinery, liquefaction train, power plant and export terminal being built by Dominion Resources. Charged with trespassing, failure to obey a lawful order and disorderly conduct, members of the group to use their day in court to tell their personal stories to the judge and others in the courtroom. Were they listening?

    Talkupy Radio welcomes Cove Point Protectors Jimmy Betts, Margaret Flowers &  Steve Norris to the show Friday, February 27 at 11 am ET to talk about what happened in court. We'll also discuss why more and more people are joining these peaceful protests and the impact of their actions.

    Talking With the Commandant of West Point: BG John Thomson

    We had a chance in January to visit at his Washington Hall office at West Point, Brigadier General John Thomson, the Commandant of Cadets. Gen. Thomson is a former Army football player and has been a guest several times on our radio shows.  A good friend and great officer of the US Army, we are pleased to introduce him to you.

    Our interview first aired on WVOX 1460 AM in New Rochelle, our home base for Sons of the American Legion Radio.

    Brigadier General John (J.T.) Thomson hails from Tyler, Texas and earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant of Field Artillery on May 28, 1986.  He assumed duties as the 75th Commandant of Cadets for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York in August 2014. 

    In 1991, BG Thomson was assigned to the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment in Nuremburg, Germany, then served as a Tactical Officer for the U.S. Corps of Cadets at West Point, New York until 1997. From 1998 to 2003, BG Thomson was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. From May 2007 to February 2008, he served as Executive Officer to the Commanding General of Multi-National Corps in Baghdad, Iraq. 

    BG Thomson commanded the 41st Fires Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas from 2009 to 2011, then became the Director of the Chief’s Coordination Group (CCG) for the 38th Chief of Staff of the Army in the Pentagon.  From April 2013 to July 2014, he served as Deputy Commanding General for the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado (deploying to Afghanistan).

    BG Thomson earned a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York in 1986 and a M.S. degree in Counseling and Leader Development from Long Island University in 1995.
