Crisis Intervention - Multiculturalism in Crisis Intervention

    in Training

Understanding each other regardless of race or ethnicity is critical in mitigating and resolving crisis. At some point we have to care more about the indiviual than we do where they come from or what they look like. How do we break through these barriers? How do we maximize our ability to help the client resolve their crisis situation unless we can understand what they are saying, what it really means, and what their needs really are? This episode provides answers to those questions and more.

    Principled Pluralism with Joseph DeMott

    in Work

On this episode I will interview Joseph DeMott. Joseph serves as Project Manager of the Inclusive America Project at the Aspen Institute, an educational and policy studies organization based in Washington, DC. A Michigan native, Joe received his BA in Philosophy and Theology magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, where he earned the Joseph A. Cavanaugh Award for “evidencing high qualities of personal character and academic achievement in theological studies.” A student of Hebrew and Arabic, Joe received his MA in Comparative Religious Studies magna cum laude from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and completed language courses at the American University in Cairo. He has been deeply involved with the Inclusive America Project since its inception in October 2012.
The Inclusive America Project, run by the Justice and Society Program at the Aspen Institute, seeks to positively engage America’s growing religious diversity in order to build a more pluralistic, inclusive, and harmonious society. The project works through a 25-member Distinguished Panel, which is co-chaired by Hon. Madeleine K. Albright and Prof. David R. Gergen. This past June, the panel released Principled Pluralism, a white paper containing recommendations and best practice examples for advancing religious pluralism in five key sectors: youth development, higher education, media, religiously affiliated organizations, and government agencies.

    Why a Pluralistic Ministry?

    in Spirituality

In this, the inaugural episode of my pluralistic ministry, I will explain just what a pluralistic ministry entails and why I feel it is necessary. We will attempt to tear downs the walls of mistrust between the various religions of the world. Remember: The mere fact that a religious path constitutes a “BELIEF” is an implication that we don’t truly “KNOW” it to be the ONLY path! Join me! Listener call-in number is (646) 929-0061. Calls will be taken in the second half-hour.

Grace is the Only Way for the Human Race

    in Religion

    Sunday Evening Evangelistic Message #91

    TEXT: Genesis 6:1-8

We live in a very pluralistic society. Many people believe that there are many ways to God; there are many paths to true happiness; and that all roads eventually lead to Heaven. However, my friends, the Bible tells us otherwise. Jesus Christ said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus Christ is the one and only way to get to God, true happiness in this life, and eternal life in heaven.

This passage in Genesis takes us far back in the history of the world. Scholars tell us that the events described in this passage which we will talk about today happened 1,600 years after God created the earth. That is about 4,300 years ago. Our passage tells us that after God created the earth, men began to multiply greatly on the face of the earth -- in other words, people had many children, and the population of the earth greatly increased. Then, the Bible tells us that something happened. It says that the "sons of God saw the daughters of men and took them wives of all which they chose."

Scholars are divided on exactly who these sons of God are, but based on studies from the Word of God, we know that they are either fallen angels who intermarried with the human race or godly human beings from the line of Seth who intermarried with the daughters of the ungodly line of Cain. Either way, it was something that God was not pleased with, and it had a corrupting influence on the world at that time.

Israel says it 'won't rest until Iran drops uranium enrichment' (Second Coming Watch Update #137)

    in News

Israel says it 'won't rest until Iran drops uranium enrichment'. According to the Jerusalem Post, Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya'alon said that Israel will not rest until Iran gives up its uranium enrichment program. While speaking at a conference in northern Israel, he said, "One way or another, the nuclear program must be stopped, and not necessarily by war. That would be the last move."

New book on prophecy says the antichrist may arise from the Middle East. New York Times bestselling author Joel Richardson steps into the debate surrounding the identity of the antichrist with his new book, Mideast Beast: The Scriptural Case for an Islamic Antichrist. According to a book review published on World Net Daily, "The author shows that he has a firm grasp on the core of Bible prophecy teaching and makes some compelling observations with regard to traditional understandings." His theory has met with strong resistance by two divergent groups: Muslims (of course), and teachers of Bible prophecy, many of whom are invested in an Antichrist of European heritage. The book was released on July 5th and retails for $25.95

There are rumors that Muslims are demanding that 20 churches in Indonesia be shut down. According to the Jakarta Globe, Indonesian Home Affairs Minister Gam-a-wan Fau-zi said he was disheartened by "rumored" demands to close 20 churches in Aceh, explaining that local residents need to accept that Indonesia is a pluralistic nation with more than one recognized religion. The minister was responding to a report that residents of the conservative Islamic province have demanded the closure of 20 churches. Last month, 16 storefront churches were shut down in the Aceh Sing-kil district amid demands from local Muslim groups. Fau-zi warned Aceh residents to resist religious intolerance.

    WESTERN POLYTHEIST MIND IN MEMORIAM

    in Religion

hiddengospel.com  THE CITY, CHURCH ORIGIN, ENOCH EXCERPT, FOUR CENTURIES OF GREAT TRIBULATION
YAH is ONE!   Therefore man never has nor never will he be found RIGHTEOUS before YAH after any manner of doctrine inately pluralistic in defiling the Holy Name!    Shall man curse ie. divide the Holy Name unto a multitude of partial and polluted vain ideologies and expect in so doing to be blessed?   The END of CONFUSION is the BEGINNING of SALVATION!    Despite long-held illusions to the contrary, CONFUSION, contradictions, debates, douts and pollutions of hypocrisies that have molded constraints of SELF-RIGHTEOUS OBSTACLES blinding men to revile the exceeding DIVINE LIGHT ABSOLUTE, shall NOT remain forever.
1 Cor 1:10  Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Yeoshua haMaschiach, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.  1:11  For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.  1:12  Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.  1:13  Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?  (1Cor.3:1-4)

    Struggcon Inc.: Restore; Reclaim; Rebuild!

    in Self Help

This week we feature Struggcon, Inc., a Brooklyn NY based not-for-profit that works with reentry populations.  Miss Arianna will be our special guest host interviewing Joe Smith, Tanya Williams and Bill Council of Struggcon.
As a people, as minorities, we find ourselves in a peculiar position, i.e., at any given time any one of us may find ourselves reentering or needing to reenter "mainstream society" from one of life's many circumstantial setback.  Struggcon's primary focus is pluralistic; they help people who are released from prison/incarceration and simultaneously work to keep others from going to prison.  Prevention is the only sure solution that will remedy the staggering amounts of our people who become commodities in this "Prison Economy!"  Can a few of us really make a difference? Will our people awake to see and recognize "the set-up?"
Our goals are to save lives and empower people by raising their levels of consciousness!  We must realize that whether or not our Struggle Continues, those cycles of oppression - discrimination- and racism, has and will!  We have the power to replace self-destruction with self-determination -- so let's do it!
    This is Bones X, Check-Mate.
