The Rising Apple Report returns for its 56th episode! Sam Maxwell hosts, with Rich Sparago joining him from the Rising Apple writing team!
Also joining them this week is a man who is becoming a regular here and a podcast veteran in his own right, Mr. Gary Mack of Mets Musings!
Well, there are 17 days till pitchers and catchers, and that is lovely to write. The Mets could still add some talent when all is said and done, though Stephen Drew is becoming more "unlikely" according to Sandy Alderson. Reliever Fernando Rodney, however, remains on the Mets radar. We'll discuss the options they have left and what direction we would like them to go.
Also, Keith Law of ESPN has 5 Mets crack his 100 top prospects list. We'll discuss the players, and how far the farm system has come in the last few years.
And of course, we'll discuss the greats to wear number 56 in Mets history.
So, make sure you join us at 6:30PM ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!
In the "The Mets should draft Dwight Gooden every year" edition, Jeffrey first needs to tell you all about Vicente Lupo stealing home in an Appy League game. Then Chris and Jeffrey talk about the trade rumors (still) swirling around the Mets and the Cubs. Jeffrey still doesn't think a prospect-for-prospect trade is going to happen, but we'll still cover each of the meain candidates, and yes, even play the jingle. Next, we discuss the Mets 2014 rotation and what it might mean for the Mets 2015 rotation, and how much news Matt Harvey will make before he even steps on the mound again. Then, Chris asks Jeffrey five questions about his Savannah/Kingsport trip, and we wrap things up with a sadly overlooked e-mail.

Pitching motion expert Angel Borrelli and baseball coach / blogger Joe Janish talk about the offseason for pitchers -- both healthy pitchers and those recovering from injury. In particular, what baseball pitchers should be thinking about, doing, and training in preparation for the spring. Angel addresses the question of whether pitchers should be playing other sports, and also explains how to reverse-engineer their offseason throwing program to ensure they'll be ready for spring training / spring practice. Finally, Angel and Joe discuss mechanical adjustments -- when they should occur, and when and why they can be dangerous.
On this episode of the Yanks Go Yard Radio Show, brought to you by KNODA.com, host and senior staff writer Ricky Keeler discusses the latest in Yankees offseason news, including Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees' rumors that they might not be signing one of the big three starting pitchers this winter.

On Monday, the Yankees offered him a 1-year, $15.3 million qualifying offer. Then, at 9:30 PM ET, CBS Sports' Matt Snyder will be Ricky's guest to discuss Matt's top storylines in free agents, his take on the qualifying offer, and how he thinks the Yankees need to approach free agency.
