I've been known to be a very random person amongst my peers. The stage has been calling me for years now, and with little experience I've decided to audition for 'Phantom of the Opera'!!!! I wouldn't say I'm the best singer, but I think I can manage.
In this episode, I'm gonna tell you what I plan on doing to get my voice prepared for auditions in September.

Soloman Howard joins the show to speak about his trajectory in the arena of opera. The Morgan University and Manhattan School of Music graduate is currently one of Washington National Opera's rising stars and is set to make his Metropolitan Opera debut this fall! Currently a member of Washington National Opera’s Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program,a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Soloman Howard is garnering superlatives from the press for his vivid performances on the opera and concert stages. His voice is called “sonorous” by The New York Times, “superhuman” by The Denver Post, and “spectacular” by Maryland Theatre Guide. Performances of the 2013-14 season include Sarastro in The Magic Flute conducted by Washington National Opera’s Music Director Philippe Auguin, Moser in Verdi’s I Masnadieri with Washington Concert Opera led by Music Director Antony Walker, Mendelssohn’s Die erste Walpurgisnacht at Carnegie Hall with Kent Tritle and the Oratorio Society of New York, and a role debut as Colline in La bohème with North Carolina Opera conducted by Robert Moody. Suze Lanier-Bramlett, aka Susan Lanier, is a veteran of stage, TV & films. She is best known for creating the role of Bambi, John Travolta’s girlfriend on the 70′s sitcom, “Welcome Back, Kotter” and starring in the lead role in the original version of the horror classic, “The Hills Have Eyes.” She has performed stand-up comedy on TV as a series regular on the shows, “Tony Orlando & Dawn” and “Sha-Na-Na,” doing sketches with artists like Alice Cooper, Steve Lawrence, Chuck Berry, and the late Freddie Prinz. Suze starred and or guest-starred on many TV pilots, sitcoms and episodics throughout the years.
In the 80′s, Suze was a regular cabaret entertainer with a following at the popular Rose Tattoo in West Hollywood. She had a recurring role on “Days of Our Lives,” and the sitcom, “So Little Time,” and has done numerous independent films. In 2009, she filmed “Area 51,” directed by Oren Peli, creator of “Paranormal Activity.” Her most recent theatre credits are “Last Of The Honkie Tonk Angels” with Leslie Jordan, written by Ronnie Claire Edwards and Leslie Jordan and “Southern Baptist Sissies” by Del Shores.
