An Hour With The Real Ellen Karis

    in Comedy

Ellen Karis is the “Greek Goddess of Comedy,” and has had a successful career performing in North America alongside such notable comics as Drew Carey, Tom Papa, and Bobby Collins. The entertainment industry has hailed her as the “little dynamo,” given her petite stature, strong improv skills and her ability to build a quick rapport with any audience. Born and raised in NYC in a traditional strict Greek home, her brand of sarcastic, observational humor has been described along the same lines as comedy legends Joan Rivers and Richard Lewis.

America, the Fourth Reich: The Women of Chiapas

    in Culture

Ramona and the Revolutionary Women’s Law
Comandante Ramona, or as the media calls her, “The Petite Warrior,” is the first name that comes to mind when discussing female EZLN leaders and women’s rights campaigns in Chiapas.

The core changes in the communal life of indigenous Mayan women were introduced by the Revolutionary Women’s Law, which was passed by the EZLN in 1993. Anonymous suggestions collected from Mayan women by Comandante Ramona, Major Ana María, and EZLN activist Susana formed the foundation of the ten sections listed in the document. Although some of the expressed demands were universal, it was clear that many were addressing issues specific to the women’s communities. Some demands were as basic as the right to an education and healthcare, while others were as momentous as the right to freedom from sexual and domestic violence. “For the first time in the history of Latin American guerilla movements, women members were analyzing and presenting the personal in politically explicit terms,” writes scholar Soneile Hymn. The Law’s passage acted as catalyst, inspiring hundreds of indigenous women, many of whom did not know what the document actually stipulated, to break away from a traditional lifestyle and actively engage in their communities.

Chase Manhattan Bank Memo and the 50 Billion Bailout

The last violent incident occurred in 2014, with a Zapatista-related teacher killed and 15 more wounded in Chiapas ambush by alleged anti-Zapatista militia.[3] Next Week: Why Donald Trump would be Good For Mexico's Economy, and Why Vicente Fox was not.

The Power Food You Never Knew You Had

    in Food

Join us as we discuss with the President and Owner of Madison Park Foods- Christine Myers - as she tells us about her unique popcorn and spice line.  Christine Myers, the Founder of Madison Park Foods (and newly elected Morris County NJ Freeholder) discusses why her popcorn is uniquely healthy and delicious.

Madison Park Food's Petite Maize Popping Corn is truly unlike any other popcorn. And it tastes as different as it looks! These slim alabaster seeds produce a small, white, crunchy popcorn with hulls so tender they are considered “hulless.”  Virtually all popcorn and corn we eat is grown from hybrid seeds while Petite Maize is made from open pollinated corn which means their seeds have never seen the inside of a laboratory and as far from GMO as you can get!

DÉCLARATION DU CONGRES NATIONAL RWANDAIS (RNC) SUR LE RÉFÉRENDUM CONSTITUTIONNEL

    in Politics Progressive

    BODY DUMP-Fred Rosen

    in Entertainment

The author of the true crime classic Lobster Boy now turns his investigative skills to the chilling true story of Kendall Francois, one of the most bizarre serial sex-killers of modern times. In October, 1996, young, pretty, and petite women began vanishing off the streets of Poughkeepsie, New York. Most were prostitutes and some were addicts. By August, 1998, the toll had reached eight, when a prostitute told police she had barely escaped being strangled by Kendall Francois, 27, a 6'4", 300-lb. middle school hall monitor whose slovenly personal hygiene had earned him the nickname "Stinky." Inside his house, the smell was worse, as investigators discovered a tangle of rotting flesh and bones - eight female corpses, almost all decomposed. Francois was sentenced to life in prison without parole. BODY DUMP-Fred Rosen
