I'm proud of the Democrats for standing up to the Tea Party and refusing to play their game! President Obama and Harry Reid are 100% correct as negotiating for a 6 week funding bill is not worth it at all. Plus Boehner has shown that he can't be negotiated with as he has no power to deliver votes. If the Affordable Care Act is "not ready for primetime" as you say, then what have you done to fix it? Dozens of failed votes to repeal it don't count. Holding the U.S. government hostage as you try to defund it hardly seems like a way to make the Act "ready for primetime". No, Mr. Boehner, this really isn't about the Affordable Care Act. It's about a political party that is willing to shutdown the government and force a default on the government debt in order to achieve some "moral" victory...a "moral" victory that will cause irreparable harm to our great nation and its citizens. Some "moral" victory that is. Mr. Boehner, you are either too blind to see this or too weak to prevent it. The choice of which applies is yours, but either way, it's a damning choice. "Because Congress did not fulfill its responsibility to pass a budget, much of the federal government will shut down." ...President Obama
