She recorded her first song in Columbia, South Carolina, where she also earned her diploma at Richland Northeast High School's Palmetto Center for the Arts. Shortly after, she moved to New York City, and later, Charm City. It was in Baltimore where she met her lead producer, Morece, at an internship doing theatre with inner city youths.
An impromptu performance with Baltimore wordsmiths, David Ross and Femi Lawal of 5th L cleared a way to work with artists in the Baltimore music scene and beyond.
A month later, she was performing with the group in New York. A year later she was asked to come on as the vocalist for live performances with the Out of Water eXperience, Lawal's solo adventure that fuses alternative rock and hip hop.
Using this unique opportunity, Alexis has honed her talents on stage and at local venues.
She is now on the verge of releasing her first solo album.
An Army Brat, Alexis-Joyce is truly a lover of music- in all it's many forms. Her musical influences range from Donny Hathaway, Natalie Cole, and Stevie Wonder, to Aerosmith, Santana, The Eagles, and country artist such as Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Kieth Urban, and Miranda Lambert. She spent months dancing to a Shania Twain cassette tape- given to her by an aunt as a girl.
"There's no such thing as 'Black music' or 'White music," says Alexis Joyce. "I strive to create music- and that can cross racial and cultural barriers. Music isn't stifled or limited by anyone's genre restrictions."
She joins Ellen Gee on this episode of The Evolution of Perspective.
JOIN ME ON EVOLUTION WITH CHARMAINE , SEPTEMBER 8TH @ 8PM AS I ADDRESS A VERY INTERESTING SITUATION. YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS SHOW!!!! WHATEVER IT TAKES…
Mike Garner grew up in Richmond, California during the time of the crack epidemic. Many lives were impacted by CRACK COCAINE. Mike lived the street life. He was surrounded by drugs and violence. At one point, Mike was amazed that managed to get a “GOOD” job at the Richmond Clinic and he had a family. There were times that he didn’t think that he would make it.
What has kept him calm and sane through ALL the madness is his love for Pitbulls (dogs.) This dog can be a BEAST! Many of us would like to see the dog band. He will talk to us about training, breeding and caring for Pitbulls and how it’s saving his life. Pitbulls are often viewed like many of our young males. When they are not shown the proper LOVE, CARE & SUPPORT, they can be the worst thing you ever met. On the other hand, with knowledge, proper training, care and love it can be the best dog you’ve ever known. Mike believes that his PURPOSE is to help educate the world about Pitbulls and help others come out of situations like the one he grew up in.

Dyon is known as a survivor to those who know her personally and an inspiration to those who watch her.
Join me Charmaine on Monday August 25th at 8pm est - 7pm cst, as EVOLUTION talks about the importance of having SUPPORT in your life and being surrounding by people who will love you unconditionally. Unfortunately, when we are at our lowest, the very people that you think will be there to UPLIFT you, will be the very ones putting you DOWN.
Mrs. Bianca Crawford stepped forward in the lives of fraternal twin girls headed down a rocky road and provided them with the love and support they needed to begin their journey towards their PURPOSE. TUNE IN to listen to how she helped turn these girls lives around. The girls struggled daily trying to navigate through life with all their many challenges. Their story will blow you away.

I am NOT worthy!
A single mother will tell her testimony of why she has been in bondage for so many years. She is her own worst enemy!!! Not feeling worthy enough to step into her purpose. We will address those areas in her life that have been a hinderance to her evolving and growing. Her PAST has a hold on her and she doesn't know how to move forward. Stagnation holds us back from our GREATER purpose. Life and circumstances have her paralyzed.

music that is used as a tool to educate and awaken the consciousness of youth and people in our communities. His
album, Lesson One: Hip-Hop & Education, has hit Amazon bestseller lists (#1 in Hot New Releases and #8 in Educational Music), and has received airplay on major radio stations around the world, due to his combination of deep, historical insights and authentic hip-hop sound.
The album features songs about African and African-American history, politics, geography, money management, and
