The Night Time Fiasco Welcomes Back Helion Prime!

    in Rock Music

Helion Prime was first conceived from a common love of metal and all things science. The band was founded when Jason Ashcraft (of Dire Peril) asked Heather Michele (of Graveshadow) to form a project with him. Between the two, they had worked with such artists as Mark Briody (Jag Panzer), Brittney Slayes (Unleash the Archers), Andy LaRocque (King Diamond), Ralph Scheepers (Primal Fear), Arjen Anthony Lucassen (Ayreon/Star One), and Niklas Isfeldt (Dream Evil). The concept; power metal with themes based on actual scientific theories with the occasional sci-fi tribute. The name Helion Prime was borrowed from an alien planet featured in the film "Chronicles of Riddick," a movie the two were great fans of. She accepted the exciting proposition without hesitation. The two recorded their first demo track in June of 2014, and with the help of members from Dire Peril and Axiom, Helion Prime debuted their first live performance in August 2014 at the Boardwalk in Orangevale, CA. The dynamic duo then released their first EP on February 26th, 2015 with a full length album in the works. Helion Prime’s lineup was completed after bringing Jeremy Steinhouse on bass and Justin Herzer (of Axiom) on drums. In August of 2015, Helion Prime set out on their first tour, playing shows in Oregon, Nevada, California, and Utah. Their debut album will be out at the end of February, and the band (who payed us a visit early last year) will be back on the show to premiere some new songs for all of you to hear, so be sure to tune in!!!

    Is Organic Agriculture Doomed?

    in Environment

With the approval of GMO Alfalfa, GMO Sugar Beets and GMO Corn, organic farmers are fighting harder than ever to protect their land and crops. Meanwhile, the agro-chemical companies are pleased that their profits are soaring. It is assumed that organic is in peril. Why is this devastating to organic farmers? One main reason is cross-fertilization. This is especially disastrous for organic farmers because once an organic field is contaminated, the organic farmer’s certification is at risk. The organic label prohibits the use of GMO crops. Losing organic certification would mean the farmer’s goods can no longer be sold for the premium price that helps cover the costs of growing organically. According to Farmaid.org, most genetically engineered crops hitting the market are developed by multinational companies such as Monsanto, Syngenta, Dupont and Dow Chemical to increase their sales and push their related pesticides. For example, Roundup Ready crops are engineered to withstand Monsanto’s toxic herbicide Roundup. With Roundup Ready alfalfa and sugar beets on the market, Monsanto can expect increased profits from its new seeds, as well as increased sales of Roundup herbicide to douse all those new seeds. This has also been a core issue for the beekeeping community which has expressed concern that the combination of GMO crops with the companion technology of neonicotinoids is devastating the rapidly declining bee population. It appears that the fate of organic farmers in the USA seems doomed but is it? In this encore segment of The Organic View, host, June Stoyer talks to organic farming advocate, Dr. Bob Quinn, President of Kamut® International. Today's show is sponsored by Eden Foods. KELLY O'CONNELL AM 1450: Iowa Caucus

    in Politics

Will Trump dominate round 1? How about Hillary? Tonight is the Iowa Caucus...

NOTES FROM THE GREAT AWAKENING: Yes friends, it’s a time in our culture when we find out what the future holds, where we are heading, what are our values and whether our study and conclusions concerning current events holds water. What am I talking about? IOWA DONALD & HILLARY of COURSE!!!

It seems certain that something fundamental has changed given this 2016 Prez race is like nothing we’ve ever experienced….but what is it? What’s different? Some claim the race is one of populism, or popular passions. Or the triumph of bigotry. Yet it seems to me something much bigger is going on here. Americans by t6he millions seem to be rising up to challenge a few things that have bedeviled us for decades, and taken the strut from our steps.

First is the maddening and ever more common lying, bait and switching politicians dotting our once great land like flies collecting in our national window sill. Second, AMERICans are deeply alarmed at an increasing number of policies which not only on their faces make no logical sense, but seem to be drawing us into ever deepening waters and overwhelming peril. As bad as these two may be, the third is perhaps worse. The sense we have fundamentally lost our country, handing it over to a progressive, immoral, and increasingly treason group of Elites. The cover these use is Political Correctness, but their impact is devastating.

Voters are supporting Donald because they feel if we do not right the ship we are heading into a full fledged hurricane and certain death of who we used to be.

The Flash 2x10 - Potential Energy Review

    in Film

WARNING: SPOILERS/NSFW - We usually dislike dream sequences that sorta try to create a false sense of peril, but you know what?  The Flash gets so much right, we won't even hold it against them! Hell, we're stoked about this episode!  The Turtle has maybe one of the coolest super powers we've ever seen utilized on screen, and he's a smarmy little bastard to boot! Winking at Barry. What a tool!  A sick tool, too, ya'll. Weirdo to the max!  But that's not all we talk about!

Patty and Barry might be done for!  Barry keeps Patty at arm's length, treats her kinda bad, and acts like a douche (for just this episode).  Then again, aren't we rushing into things here, Patty?

And what's up with all these CW kids and the illegal racing?  Seems like a weird trend...

A Journey to Rwanda for Children's Rights with Arndt Soret and Donatella Canella

    in Non-Profit

This program is prerecorded and will be released as a podcast.

Humanium is an international child sponsorship NGO dedicated to stopping violations of children’s rights throughout the world.

Humanium was founded in Geneva in 2008 with a single purpose: the well-being of children worldwide. The association strives for a concrete improvement in their living conditions and their basic rights.

Humanium’s objectives span three complementary approaches:

raising awareness of children’s rights to more than five million people each year worldwide
legal assistance for victims of children’s rights violations
supporting local partners with projects to help children

And there's more: often, these journeys to create a compassionate and more sustainable world have a leadership journey and story that seldom gets heard.

Donatella Canella and Arndt Soret took this journey together, unexpectedly and at great peril to their own lives and safety. They tell their story on Voice of Evolution Radio.

Joss Rowlands, co-creator of the Parachute Project, a program designed to help leaders in the co-creating space, joins producer and host, Linda Lombardo, to share her role in Donatella and Arndt's journey.

Expect a part 2 with these amazing co-leaders on a quest for the future: our children.
