EP215 Author & Historian Robert Buccellato Joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Books

Robert Buccellato is the Author of "Florida Governors Lasting Legacies", "Jimmy Carter in Plains the Presidential Hometown", and the forthcoming "Finding Dan McCarty."
He is a Graduate of Florida State University and the Historian for the Clerk of Courts for Leon County, a position created for him by Clerk Bob Inzer.

The physical connections to most American presidents are deeply rooted in the past and unfamiliar. One can no longer see Washingtons birthplace or William Henry Harrisons log cabin. Plains, Georgia, is different, and the attachment Americans have for it remains truly unique. Jimmy Carter in Plains: A Presidential Hometown tells the inspirational story of how one man and his community transformed a nation. When Jimmy Carter, a one-term governor of Georgia, announced his candidacy for president, few took him seriously. Yet, in just two years, he managed to pull off a spectacular and unprecedented victory, thanks to his personal style of politicking and the support of his hometown. Many of his neighbors campaigned for him, and they became known as the Peanut Brigade. Crowds started to flock to the sleepy hamlet of Plains, making celebrities out of the candidates mother, younger brother, and daughter. The exceptional photographs of Charles W. Plant guide the reader through the 1976 election, which made Plains Americas hometown.

Your Peace is not just for You!

    in Radio

Many ideas have been created when the author, inventor, or creator is at peace.  When the mind is stressful, one cannot think clearly or hear clearly, and the small still voice cannot be heard. Just think if George Washington Carver had not gotten up at 4am to take a walk of solitude, we would not have the great inventions from the peanut.  If Joel Olsteen did not spend quiet time with God, we would have books to encourage us to continue this walk.  Yes, we need our peace to maintain a productive life, however, the products of our peace is not just for us.  It is for our childen, generations to come, our friends, family, co-workers, and those who God puts in our path.  Our peace will help us encourage others to develop their gifts and talents.

Author Talk Presents W Parks Brigham - We belong together

    in Books

Shelly Roberts and Joffrey Matheson have watched friends fall in love and take that giant step—marriage—promising to share their lives together. Now it’s their turn. They’ve been paired as the perfect couple, according to Allanville’s Matchmakers Committee. Yes, their friendship has developed and grown. Yes, they are compatible, enjoy each other’s company, and want the same things out of life. Most importantly, they’re both seeking a meaningful relationship. Family and friends are excited as they cheer them on. Everyone is anticipating and waiting for the big news.
    Humph, that’s a joke!
Instead, they keep getting sickening, whining excuses; there are no sparks…no chemistry…we’re just friends…you know, a yummy peanut butter sandwich but with syrup instead of jelly. The million-dollar question, how can you develop a serious relationship when you’re still carrying a torch for someone from your past? Where they do that at? In the small town called Allanville?

Youth Sunday - "I Don't Want No Peanut Butter and Jelly..."

    in Christianity

There was a song with a ballard by Evangelist Shirley Ceasar that was written a long time ago entitled "I Want My Soul To Be Saved. It went on to detail a kid that went to Sunday school and what he learned made him concerned about his soul's salvation. He had a hunger and a tirst for the Living God and when he got home he told his mom that he was hungry. She mistook his words for food hungry but the little boy was speaking of a soul hunger a hunger and a thirst of righteousness. A deep rooted hunger (which is in all of us) to know God. So that when she offered him a "Peanut butter and Jelly sandwich" his response was... "I don't want no "Peanut Butter and Jelly"... "I Want My SOUL to be SAVED!!!"

Our children turn to the drug of flocka and other drugs and sexual immoral acts because their parents are not spending the time to talk to their children and not at them. Show some interest in their sufferings and their struggles because they have issues and they need help to get through them. If you don't get them to the proper help that other help... the devil and his workers are more than ready to teach them their way. ... they need their souls to be saved!!!
