Patrick M. Riley has been an advocate of natural health care since 1978. A graduate of La Salle University in Philadelphia, Patrick pursued studies in macrobiotics, shiatsu and related health subjects at the Kushi Institutes in London, England and Boston.
In 1982 following a brief employment in the natural food industry, Patrick co-founded the Bucks County Macrobiotic Center in Langhorne, PA. It was here at the community level that Patrick refined his skills as a teacher, therapist and counselor. The success of the center was largely due to his enthusiasm for a comprehensive learning experience. The multi-dimensional educational program he helped develop and sponsor attracted countless participants to the center, a dynamic full service macrobiotic facility.
In 1990 he established the Pennsylvania School of Shiatsu, a 350 hour certification program that prepared students for careers in shiatsu therapy. Recognized as an expert in the art of shiatsu, Patrick has presented workshops and seminars throughout the United States and Europe. He currently teaches at the Strengthening Health Institute and The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College. Patrick devotes his professional time to working with individuals assisting them to restore their natural healing ability through the use of diet and common sense living. Patrick maintains offices in Newtown and Philadelphia, PA. He still hopes to publish his first book in the near future.
Patrick Carey Engineering was created for both program hosts and syndication networks alike. A program can have their engineering and call screening all in one location, with an engineer that they can reach 7 days a week for recording spots or just to coordinate the flow of the upcoming program. You also have the freedom to do the show from where you want, without being tied directly to a local radio station. For network syndicators, we allow you to pick up new programs without hiring more staff. The finished product is fed live to the network via ISDN at your specified bitrate. Patrick will share his techniues and will offer his expertise to hosts who need files and someone to monitor their programs.
It will be a blockbuster broadcast tonight when TUF Contestant Patrick Walsh joins the show to talk about the current Edgar vs. Penn Ultimate Fighter season up to this point. Walsh runs his own gym in Massachusetts and won his first fight to get into the fighter house and the first fight in the tournament. We also have Brendan McKee, the founder of Office to Octagon (www.officetooctagon.org). The charity-based amateur fight league is hosting another event later this month, and McKee will help us make a huge announcement tonight regarding Fight News Unlimited's contribution to an Office to Octagon show later this year featuring a theme of the New York vs. Boston rivalry. Tom, Tony, and Rich will also discuss as much news, results, and upcoming events as we can get to between these two phenomenal interviews.
Finishing his second and last four-year term as MA Gov., Deval Patrick has considerable PR and legacy issues. There's been ncompetence at the agency charged with children's safety. Then, the transition from state health insurance exchange to the federal version failed pretty badly. Several scandals have ended up in the courts, like the probation department. Both casino and pot-dispensary applicant seem questionable. There remains drug-lab bungling. On and on.
Yet, this good buddy of President Obama has been good for the commonwealth. He led the fight to clean up ethics and political conflicts, and guided us out of recession ahead of most of the country. The whole time he remains two years ahead of Obama — in election to high office, in governing and supporting universal; health care and marriage equality, among other progressive aims. Now, he'll step back two years ahead.
Here the wingers decry the devil out of Deval Patrick. When talking heads ask the predictable will-you-run-for-Pres the klaxon's are deafening. All Patrick's policy and legislative successes are gone, leaving only shards of scandals visible on the floor.
We'll muse on what's next for him and whether he can suture and heal the troubles of the past year before he leaves in January 2015.
