ROBERT SHEPPARD -GLOBAL CONSCIOUSNESS
On the topic of WWIII/The New Emerging Eurasian Balance of Power/Global Balance of Power2. On World Literature 3. On the Causes of and Possible Solutions for the World Financial/Economic Crisis/Decline of the Western EconomyThe World War III Scenario: Like Clancy's Dragon and the Bear, Spiritus Mundi deals with a potential World War III arising a Pearl-Harbor-like sneak attack by newly allied rising powers China, Russia and Iran making a strike at the West's oil jugular by attempting to seize the oil fields of the Middle-East., provoking a potential nuclear Armageddon which is narrowly averted and finally results in Russia, Japan and Korea being incorporated into NATO to defeat a Plan B seizure of the Siberia by the Chinese. The Concept of a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly: The novel Spiritus Mundi focuses on the campaign to create a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly, which would function like a globalized and scaled-up version of the successful EU European Parliament---an popularly elected advisory body designed to bring the voice of the people of the world together in a new organ supplementing the existing Security Council and General Assembly for initiating democracy in global governance and redressing the "democratic deficit" in international institutions. The author, Robert Sheppard, serves as a Senior Associate of the Campaign for a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly, spearheaded by former UN Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, and many characters of the novel are fictional participants in this campaign.

Reading - Human Rights Watch - Those Who Take Us Away- Pt4
We will continue on from pg 62.I will be reading the full 89 page report just release and made public by the Human Right Watch on " Those That Take Us Away" where there are allegations that the RCMP ( Royal Canadian Mountain Police) discriminate and abuse/sexual abuse First Nations Women. Mainstream media news reports are advising that the RCMP head honchos ( the old boys club mentality) are dismissing the report. In the meantime the RCMP is going to be investigated by "Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP"This commission is is an independent agency, created by Parliament, to ensure that complaints made by the public about the conduct of RCMP members are examined fairly and impartially. The CPC accepts and attempts to resolve complaints lodged by the public about the conduct of RCMP members. More specifically, it conducts reviews when complainants are not satisfied with the RCMP's handling of their complaints; conducts investigations; holds hearings; reports findings; and makes recommendations for changes in national policing policy and practice. If it takes more then one show to completed the reading so be it. It should be noted that Meghan Rhoades does not feel this report belongs to anyone including the HRW other then the Indigenous women who spoke with them.

Amending the Kenyan Constitution by Popular Initiative
Following the controversial Supreme Court decision on the 2013 Kenyan Elections and the unanswered questions surrounding the way the IEBC conducted elections, it is now clear that democratic gains can easily be rolled back by individuals entrusted with constitutional offices.
The time has come for Kenyans to re-assess the new Constitution in terms of its ability to assure democratic governance, transparency and accountability. The IEBC Act, the Elections Act, the Supreme Court and other courts, power of judges, the Political Parties Act, the powers of the Executive Arm, NCIC, courts, parliament, devolution, budgetary accountability/transparency, Diaspora voting, access to information etc need to be reviewed and better solutions offered to problematic areas.Four Townhall forums are planned in USA, UK, Scandinavia and Kenya over May/June to kick off the deliberations in the Diaspora and in Kenya.

Interview with Melvin Van Peebles
Today's show is a special treat as groundbreaking filmmaker Melvin Van Peebles shares as much of his well-known accomplishments-including his recent Lifetime Achievement Award at Chicago's CIMMfest5 last week-as we can cram into a half-hour to 45-minute interview.
Van Peebles is best known for directing films like "Watermelon Man," and "Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song" during the early '70's. He was always disgusted about how blacks are portrayed in Hollywood, he made two short films during the '60's and then Hollywood could do no better than offer him a job as elevator operator and dancer.
Few people know he was long ago a noted author and novelist and a forunner of rap even before Gil Scott Heron.
Musician Billy Bland, stays on for Part-2 as we discuss a Brand New Funkedelic song (The First since "The Way of the Drum,") and the loss of one of their great bassplayers; Coredell "Boogie" Mosson.
