    Avoiding the Paranoia Trap...

    in Politics

Tonight, join an Observer as we discuss methods to avoid becoming paranoid with each-other. Paranoia can destroy us if we don't rein it isn, so we should "trust...but verify."

We should believe in each-other until our faith is betrayed. We need to allow the possibility for this faith we have in each-other to be rewarded, and paranoia prevents this entirely.

    Your calls are encouraged.

The Romans A.D. Bible Ushered In Mental Down Syndrome Murders Increased

    in Music

The American Psychological Association (APA), after a five year study on devoutly religious people, will now consider an unassailable belief in a deity or a higher power to a point where it impairs one's ability to make conscientious decisions about common sense matters, as a mental illness.  The study showed that deeply religious people often suffered from paranoia, anxiety, emotional distress and hallucinations. The study also states that those who had poor health conditions considered God cruel, and those who consider God kind usually did not suffer from mental illnesses. To give an example, Dr. Lillian Andrews, professor of psychology, said that the 'Jehovah Witnesses' will not accept life-saving donor blood under any circumstance and rather choose to die. According to the professor, such people should be declared 'mentally unfit' for decision making and saved using any appropriate method. The APA will persuade law makers to introduce legislation which would allow doctors the right to force life-saving treatment on those who refuse it for spiritual reasons. Dr. Andrews also considers people claiming to possess self-healing powers, ability to communicate directly to a God and power to see spirits, as signs of a mental break and a loss of touch with reality. The new classification of archaic beliefs as mental disorder is treated as a step towards positive direction by the APA.  More details about the study will be made available to the public in APA's upcoming journal that is expected to be released in August.

Supergirl 1x10 - Childish Things Review

    in Film

WARNING: SPOILERS/NSFW - So this is one of those episodes we've been waiting for! Toyman escapes from prison, contacts his son Winn, and all manner of crazy poo happens!  Winn has to talk to deep cut Batman character Cameron Chase, Winn gets all vulnerable and lets those emotions (and lips) fly! And I don't think there's a reset button on this one, kids!  Oh, and Alex and Maxwell Lord have a saucy off-the-books dinner (I hope everyone keeps their paranoia in their pants)... Speaking of ill-advised behavier, are Lucy and James about to work together?  Is the show really going to show us the "woman doesn't need her man's permission to work" story again?  Kinda. But not totally, thank Rao.  Oh, and things are amping up for J'onn and the White Martians!  Are you guys as excted as we are? Probably. Right?

    The Effeminization of Black Men

    in Culture

When you turn on the tv whether it's movies, commercials, or sporting events there seems to be an agenda to effeminize Black Men. Is this a paranoia or a harsh reality? Have we as society become compliant with this trending behavior? Whose to blame?

People can do very little to avoid insanity

    in Religion

Insanity is persistent mental disorder, or derangement of of sober thoughts. I used to think that sanity was a sure thing, and very depenable  till lately research prove to me it is not as I thought.  The way our bodies are made up with neurocircuits etc worth keen attention and heed.  "How can one know if one is losing his sanity?"  There are some strong indicators that could indicate to you that you are indeed on your way of becoming mentally ill. Nobody is truly "sane" in the perfect sense of the word because for the vast majority of people it's true that they ALL have some kind of quirk.

You are (recurrently) depressed for longer periods of time.
You are hearing voices in your head that try to influence you to do (or not do) certain things.
You are feeling extreme bouts of paranoia. If you really think "they" are after you and no one can convince you that this is not the case.
If you find that you cannot do certain natural things any more because you are too afraid of doing them, then that too is a strong indicator that you are (getting) mentally ill.

People are exposed to an ever increasing amount of stimuli in our everyday lives, and so we realized that the brain must employ a processing mechanism to prioritize and refine responses -we don't run away from every loud sound or unexpected sight," said Dr. Hirsch. "Following the discovery of the amygdala's role in fear response, we decided to explore the finer points
