As I mention in each show, this world is full of paradoxes and paradigms and it is important to distinguish between the two.
According to the google.com definition of paradox, a ‘paradox’ is a noun meaning:
1) ‘a statement or proposition that, despite sound (or apparently sound) reasoning from acceptable premises, leads to a conclusion that seems senseless, logically unacceptable, or self-contradictory’-“a potentially serious conflict between quantum mechanics and the general theory of relativity known as the information paradox"
2) ‘a seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement or proposition that when investigated or explained may prove to be well founded or true’-"in a paradox, he has discovered that stepping back from his job has increased the rewards he gleans from it"
What this ultimately means is that there are some things in life that don’t make sense until you look at it from another’s point of view.
According to the google.com definition of paradigm, a ‘paradigm’ is a noun meaning:
1) ‘a typical example or pattern of something; a model’-"there is a new paradigm for public art in this country"
2) ‘a set of linguistic items that form mutually exclusive choices in particular syntactic roles’-"English determiners form a paradigm: we can say “a book” or “his book” but not “a his book”
What this ultimately means is that certain things have a set value or a concrete belief system without question. So, for example: ‘The sun is bright.’ This is an example of a paradigm, because there is no real counter that the sun is not bright. Therefore, it must be true.
