Raising the Mandingo Man Child ( Mother's Relationships with Sons)part 2

    in Music

Raising the Mandingo Man Child ( Mother's Relationships with their Sons)With or without a husband or man in the household, raising a male child can be challenging for a woman. She wants to protect him from the world, prepare him to be a positive and responsible member of society, provide him with opportunities to succeed, pamper him with her love.

She has to deal with the forces and influences of society, whether the force is the school administration, officers of the law, the general community or her husband or her man or her family members. In his younger years, the bond is strong and they have a wonderful relationship. As he gets older, in his early teen or teen years, when he starts to feel himself, he begins to challenge her authority, act like the "man of the house" (that's what she called him) and suddenly there is conflict. When dad or father figure is in the home, some times, mom has protected her son against his advice, now the drama begins.

When dad is not in the house, many times mom will say in a militant tone, "I am sending you to your father," some times after having spoken negatively about his father all these years - a formula for disaster also.

How do we prepare our young men for success without emasculating them? Teach them survival skills so they will not depend on a woman or be desperate to find a woman to fill the place of mama? When should you stop breast feeding your son, allowing him to sleep in the bed with you, or allowing him to see you in the nude? When do you or should you teach him to cook, dance, hem his pants, wash and shop for his clothes?

Have a single mother, mother with a step father and mother with the birth father; also have a single father raising his son, father/exhusband without his son and a 30 year old raised by his mom on the show to discuss.

Empty Nest? Pamper Yourself With a Hot Tub
When you’ve invested years into raising your family, it’s easy to forget about yourself.

When it’s finally time for the kids to leave the nest, it’s time for you to explore a little pampering. Here are some of the benefits of rewarding yourself with a dip in the hot tub.

    Uninterrupted R&R
Now that the house is empty and quiet, it’s the perfect time to sit back, relax and reflect. With massage, heated water and space to stretch out, the right hot tub is divine.

    Reconnect With Your Spouse
Spend a little intimate time with the one you love in a hot tub. It’s much more rewarding to spend time chatting while relaxed, instead of while cooking, or watching television.

    Banish Aches and Pains
A fifteen minute soak is all it takes to banish aches and pains. Hydrotherapy is a proven method for pain relief and exactly why a quick dip brings instant relief.

MASTERING THE ART OF LOVING AND PAMPERING YOURSELF!!!

    in Self Help

Learning how to take care of yourself and give yourself the special treatment you crave is a great way to actually be healthier and happier.

I know most of you have heard the saying that “You’ve got to fall in love with yourself first”

I know we can come up with all kinds of excuses why we can’t put ourselves first. But I am here to let you know that, if you want a centered and amazing life, this needs to be your everyday affirmation.

Some of us even go as far to think that loving and caring and pampering ourselves sounds very selfish, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Join me Janice Clarke, Holistic Health Practitioner, Master Herbalist, Nutritional Consultant, Reiki Practitioner and Host of the Soulful Healing Talk Show, as we discuss the importance of putting ourselves first, by loving, pampering and centering ourselves.

When you are loving yourself first, everything and everyone in your life reaps the benefits.

Loving yourself means caring for yourself in such a deep way, which includes making your sleep, nutrition and well-being a priority.  It’s all about listening to your body and giving it what it needs to function at your best.

Many of us take wonderful care of our families and think nothing of sacrificing to pamper others. But when it comes to ourselves we often never get around to the same nice treatment.

Let me be frank, If you always put someone else first, there's a tendency for others to depreciate you, to lose respect, because respect comes from an understanding that YOU have your own wishes, dreams, and desires.

Really really looking forward to our ME TIME…Catch you then…One Love!!
