How to Run in Extremely Cold Weather

    in Sports

Running in extreme cold weather requires discipline and preparation. Join Richard Diaz and co-host Vanessa Runs as she calls from her igloo as we discuss what to wear, feed and how to prepare for running a ultra-marathon in the snow, ice and freezing rain.

The east coast typically gets punished by harsh winter storms and power outages: We expect no less this winter. What could be more appropriate for this show than to have our co-host Vanessa Runs is calling us direct from her self-made igloo. The topic of running a marathon or ultra-marathon when the weather dips below freezing is our focus for this broadcast. Be sure to tune in… if your power is out, you can catch the show later from our archives.

Solar, Sun Power, Moving of the Grid

    in Spirituality

    Thunderground Thursday

In this segment of Thunderground Thursday Chief Yuya explains how one can easily and quickly captialize off of Solar generated energy.

This is an excellent episode for the DIY listeners who have an ACTIVE interest in removing themselves from the electrical grid supplied by their locality.

This episode is not only about DIY but, also about DFS (Do for Self). If you are intersted in living OFF THE GRID and providing a power source that is not suceptible for the constant outages that the power companies claim you must be victim to, this is the segment for you.

    in Lifestyle

Join me Monday, May 12th at 6 p.m. Pacific/9 Eastern on Radio Enso when we welcome the return of Bridget Pilloud of Intuitive Bridge, the place for transformational, strategy-driven explorations about intuition and the human condition! Bridget was one of my favorite interviews in the early days of Radio Enso and I’m excited to have her back to talk about intuition, her work as a Professional Intuitive, and much more!

About Bridget: Since 2006, Bridget Pilloud has been an intuitive consultant. She writes, speaks and teaches about intuition and the human experience. She started The Intuitive Bridge in 2009. With a world-wide clientele, Bridget applies intuition and critical thinking to the issues and opportunities that her clients face. She empowers people to use their authentic gifts to enact positive changes in their personal and professional lives.

Bridget lives in a mid-century modern house with her partner, three children, two dogs, two cats and three chickens. She loves to sail with her family, knit, cook and ride her beautiful 1987 Specialized Hard Rock bicycle around Portland, Oregon.

"There’s wisdom and intuition. And then there’s Bridget. Bridget has a gift that transcends expectations. Her insight has consistently lit my path during personal power outages and her kindness and humor have taught me that there are healers in this world that know how to humanize their talents." -Liz Scherer

    Non Preppers, Most are Prepping!

On December 22, between 20 and 40 mm of freezing rain fell on several towns in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

What also surprised me, was just how well prepared many people already were. Those who had likely never heard the word prepper were doing well in this situation just because it seemed to be common sense to be ready for such events. Sure, I was able to offer some advice on water storage, food stocking and other preparedness issues, but I was amazed at just how well prepared these supposed “sheeple” were.

If the shit ever really hits the fan for these people, they will surely fare much better than many of us preppers initially think! This leads me to believe that what I as well as many others in the prepper community have been working for is actually paying off. More and more people are getting prepared than we could imagine and taking this trip into an area affected by widespread power outages proved it!

I did get to help one old family friend set up a generator though, so I’ll talk about all the steps required to get it going from store to set up and everything you need to get one going.

Lessons From Superstorm Sandy: LIPA's New Leadership & New Direction For 2014

    in Energy

It is hard to believe but it has been a little over a year since Superstorm Sandy devastated the New York Metro area. Although this may appear to be a local issue, the world is watching the efforts to rebuild and restore the area. Regardless of how people may feel about New York, everything that happens here does impact other parts of the world. Especially with so many natural disasters occurring, it is important that communications with the public play a bigger role while the necessary changes are being made to the infrastructure to combat future storms and mass power outages. In this special series called The Clean Energy View, host, June Stoyer talks to Mr. John McMahon, the Chief Operating Officer of the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA). Mr. McMahon will discuss some of the key lessons learned from Superstorm Sandy as well as some of the exciting changes that are being made including the new relationship with Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG). Atlanta Ice Storm and Family Time

    in Education

Yes, bad weather hit Atlanta again. Just 2 weeks after a snow storm that crippled Metro Atlanta we get hit with a Ice Storm. This time Atlantans were better prepared. But I'm not sure if most were prepared for a 3-day school closing and possible power outages. Many were without power for for several hours and some were without power for 2 days. How did Atlanta families fair with "cabin fever" after one day of being warned not to go out? Did families take this time to play games with their kids, spouses, and friends or watch a good movie? Or did everyone huddle in their favorite spot texting or facebooking away? How was your family time spent? Let us know today on Live Talk Radio "Talking With Denise"
