As EMS providers we get a lot of training on many topics. Cardiac, pharmacology, IV skills, airway management etc.
But what about training on keeping us safe and preventing injuries. I mean beyond a handbook, OSHA video or a gentle, "Be safe out there".
Should EMS agencies offer their paramedics and EMTs real formal training on driving the ambulance, lifting patients and situational awareness?
Wouldn't training like this not only prevent injuries, but also save on the financial end in lost wages, ambulance repairs and insurance. Maybe even prevent the ending of an EMS career too early.
Join us for some thoughts on this and bring us how your agency trains or doesn't train you in safety.

Scandalpalooza continues to unfold as new revelations continue to come to the surface. The liberal media continues to trade snipes with Obama's cronies, conservative groups were given a hard time by more than just the IRS. We now know the EPA was doing the same thing and apparently the ATF, FBI and OSHA are involved. And I have no doubt that the DHS is in this as well. It's the government versus the people! Our thoughts go out to those affected in the midwest by tornados! Why does the media ask these people such stupid questions?
That and the news of the day! Conservative libertarian irreverent commentary on the current events in news and politics with a whole lot of pulling back the curtain to reveal the "wizards" behind it all!
