With Straight Outta Compton, Kelli Jones has cemented herself as the go-to Costume Designer for gritty, realistic depictions of television and feature films’ most compelling characters and genres. After getting her start on season two of the critically-acclaimed FX series The Shield, Kelli was tapped to develop the look that sparked a fashion phenomenon with the wildly popular biker gang drama Sons of Anarchy. Through Sons, Kelli not only brought unquestionable sex appeal to the characters, but also garnered a Costume Designer’s Guild nomination in the prestigious “Best Contemporary Costume Design” category. In a true testament to the populatiy of her original looks and style, she even developed a Sons Of Anarchy clothing and jewelry line that is sold directly to fans on the FX Network’s website. These signature designs and point-of-view were not lost on the producers of the motion picture thriller Homefront, who picked her to create the looks for stars Jason Statham & James Franco, Winona Ryder and Kate Bosworth. Additionally, Kelli has she designed for such feature films as Chrystal starring Billy Bob Thornton, Four Reasons starring Josh Lucas and Radha Mitchell and Isolation, for Sons of Anarchy Director Stephen Kay. Jones’ other successful television credits include Hawaii, North Shore, Standoff, Women's Murder Club, Memphis Beat, Parks and Recreation, Franklin & Bash and several television pilots including Star-Crossed for the CW network and the groundbreaking Fox series The Following. A. Louise Robertson talks about her latest book, Chained to Mineola (Long Island, New York Book 2)
About Chained to Mineola: Carly Eubanks returns to her hometown for her aunt's funeral. Before flying back to California she drives down the street in Mineola where she spent her childhood. The house was originally owned by Betty and Bill Edwards, her grandparents, who bought the house after WWII. Carly is dismayed when she discovers a road crew who is just about to cut down the oak trees on Oak Street, including the one she played in as a child in front of her old home. She can't let this happen. She mades an instant decision to save the tree, climbing inside the limbs and then chaining herself to the branches. With the help of her cousin and an old high school boyfriend she sets out to save the tree and the environment and swears not to come down until the City changes its plans to widen the street and to demolish the trees. It's not going to be easy, in fact, the unforeseen future presents more than one challenge to this determined woman. It's Carly's story, but also her cousin and her niece's story. Her niece, Alison becomes involved with a young man from Scotland who has an uncle also very concerned about the environment, in fact he makes a career from working in Perthshire's annual Enchanted Forest. Destiny is about to step in and change all of their lives, because of a girl who loves a tree.

What in the boxing? Sometimes we're not sure if these kinds of frenzied, chaos-laden endings to fights that we got in Tim Bradley's win over Jessie Vargas on HBO are part of the frustrations or great things about boxing. Maybe both? Bradley survived a late rally by Vargas that ended with a referee mistake, leading to a prematurely-ended fight. It fed the post-fight discussion, but not in the most positive way. This week on Top Men Boxing Radio, James Foley of Bad Left Hook and The Fight City's Patrick Connor will toss their....however many cents out there, and will be once again joined by UC Davis boxing coach and contributor to The Sweet Science, Joel Stern. As always, join us live or catch us later on iTunes and other services. Thanks for tuning in!
