Oprah Winfrey has risen to incredible popularity and experienced immeasurable success but is she simply one in a million women in media to reach such heights? Women have made great strides in the industry but there are still obvious barriers to female advancement. What are these barriers and, alternatively, how have the vast new opportunities created by online and new media actually benefited women? Roundtable with Stephanie Robinson takes on the current plight of women in media with women in media themselves. Television executive Sidmel Estes gives her take on the progress women have made and the continued challenges they face. Radio personality Sybil Wilkes, press specialist Kathy McKiernan and journalist and new media expert Jessica Ann Mitchell also weigh in on these questions with insider points of view. Should we keep running or is our chase of Oprah in vain?
It’s time to gather at the Roundtable as Stephanie Robinson delivers hot topics, deep talk and a little bit of uplift. Roundtable with Stephanie Robinson...pull up a chair.
Oprah is desperately trying to get back into the game. Her tv channel OWN is teetering on failure, she hasnt acted in 15 years and is scrambling for a bounce-back with the movie The Butler, and she had generally not been the center of attention for some time. So what's her strategy for getting back in the game? Why not invent a scenario in which the richest and one of the most powerful woman in the world is the victim of prejudice?
Mike and Pat will discuss why Oprah is a shitbag, and revisit the issue of Egypt as the country descends in to chaos.

Oprah Winfrey -- this ignorant woman is so disgusting in her rhetoric, she leaves me no choice but to comment publicly... Emmitt Till was ABDUCTED, tortured, disfigured, then shot POINT BLANK in the head before being tied to a cotton gin and DUMPED IN A RIVER... For freaking OPRAH WINFREY to compare TRAYVON MARTIN - who ATTACKED Zimmerman and POUNDED HIS HEAD INTO THE GROUND!! - to EMMITT TILL is - NO kidding!! - one of the MOST DISGUSTING THINGS I'VE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE... This woman is every BIT the racist meat-bag Al Sharpton is... It makes me sick to even LOOK at her... EMMITT-FREAKING TILL??? -- She SPITS ON HIS GRAVE!!! http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Hollywood/2013/08/05/oprah-trayvon-same-emmitt-till
Last week we saw the Pope talking about gays and there seemed to be a slight glimmer of hope or is there?
One week after that story a Catholic School Teacher was fired because he married his life long partner and photos of the wedding were published in a local newspaper. On the Brian The Hammer Show today Brian will investigate this story and bring it to you.
-Lindsay Lohan is out of rehab and hit the ground running, some say her jokes directed at Kristen Stewart while hosting Chelsea Lately were awkward and lacked taste.
-Will Oprah Winfrey nail the Actress down and ask the tough questions or will she go soft on Lindsay during her interview or will her toughest questins be what the teaser suggests "Are You An Addict?" and "What does it feel like to be both an adjective and a verb for child-star-gone-wrong?"

Here we go again!!!! The elephant in the room is RACE and it showed up in a courtroom with Paula Deen and in a Swiss boutique with Oprah. Two different reasons. In two separate countries thousands of miles away. Paula Deen admitted to frequent use of the “N” word with staff, friends, family and colleagues. Oprah strolled into a fashionable Swiss boutique and was refused service when the clerk thought the purse she wanted to see was too expensive for her tastebuds. Let’s clear the record, Electing a popular and prolific Black President does NOT make this country post racial! And now it doesn’t make the world post racial! Race is embedded in the DNA of our society, even though it is merely a social construct crafted by the slave owners of the 1600s. We’ll explore the reasons why race still matters with Mary-Frances Winters, a veteran diversity professional who has personally felt the sting of racial injustice and understands why it persists to this day.
This week on the BIG show, the most influential woman in the world, Oprah Winfrey will be our special guest to discuss her role in the historical drama, Lee Daniels' The Butler. The media titan and honorary Oscar winner returns to the big screen in a very showy and effective performance that is drawing talk of an upcoming Oscar nomination. Plus, we'll have entertainment news and reviews of the latest film including Kick-Ass 2 and the abovementioned Lee Daniel's The Butler on Episode 213 of Keeping It Reel with FilmGordon.
