Tosha Silver Replay, Outgrageous Openness, Thursday, 930pm EST

    in Spirituality

Replay this Thursday, part two interview with Tosha Silver Dec 12.

Our guest for this Thursday is Tosha Silver, the first show was so great we asked her back to talk more about what she has learned.

On the show, she will talk about her book–  Outrageous Openness: Letting the Divine Take the Lead

A compilation of funny, irreverently reverent stories on aligning with the Divine in daily life. For the passionately spiritual and bemusedly skeptical alike. Adapted from a popular column originally published as San Francisco’s Spiritual Examiner at examiner.com. “What if God IS the story? What if the Divine is constantly igniting roadside flares to get our attention? What if there actually IS a Supreme Organizing Principle with a ribald and unbridled sense of humor? And what if we each have this ardent inner suitor who’s writing us love letters every day that often go unopened?” What if indeed? Read on. Author Bio: Tosha Silver grew up thinking one day she would be a rabbi, a lawyer or a weathergirl. But fate had other ideas.

Let's Talk...God is not Religious - The Person of the Holy Spirit

    in Christianity

Participants are encouraged to present their spiritual questions, queries and struggles, whereby the host will attempt with the aid of scripture and the Holy Spirit's inspiration to provide adequate instruction, correction, inspiration and encouragement.  Comments and exhortation may also be solicited from the other participants within the bounds of relevance and congeniality.  The overall objective will be to create a liberated atmosphere where people feel free and comfortable to share their concerns and get their longtime, internalized questions at the least addressed and ideally answered.  This format is being employed to stir discussion and participation amongst God’s people and counter the current spectator, one-way monologue program that is being practiced in most contemporary church worship services today.  The goal being to allow the Holy Spirit the freedom, time and interaction to bring knowledge, wisdom, healing and support to the members of Christ’s body, for one another and by one another.  As well as, inviting outside seekers of truth into a non-intimidating, non-traditionally religious setting of dialogue, where they can pose their questions without fear of judgment and openness and acceptance in a spirit of love and mutual engagement.  Join us as we pierce through the darkness & cut our way through the murky waters of what Christianity has become today, so as to find the freedom that Christ intended us to have, in the same way he taught & shared when he walked & lived life among the people. What was the Act's Church & were we meant depart from it into what Church has become today. And if we have, how did we get there? Join us as we unravel these questions & tackle many more which has made Christianity into what it is today.ian faith.

Living & Proclaiming A New & Higher Way Of Living Based On Revelation

    in Spirituality

Jesus asked his followers to dedicate their lives to the regeneration of all humankind, by living and proclaiming a new and higher way of life.  In our generation, The Urantia Book asks us to take up this same call and it provides the guidance we need, in great detail, to begin to address this mission.  If we could develop a dynamic evolutionary movement, that powerfully conveyed the spiritual essence of the revelation, in a form that ministered to large numbers of people in varied cultures around the world, what might it look like?

This week on the Cosmic Citizen, we will be joined by Marvin Gawryn who has given decades to exploring the Urantia Book's teachings on this very subject. He will share with us his research, study and conclusions as well as many of the intriguing and thought provoking passages that the Urantia revelation provides as an outline for just such a religious movement. Long time Urantia students may be surprised by the frequency and openness with which the book addresses this subject. We hope you can join us as we imagine together what shape this movement might take.

Marvin Gawryn has been a student of The Urantia Book for forty-seven years, leading study groups and serving in various capacities in the Urantia Book Fellowship for much of that time.  He is retired after thirty years in practice as a family therapist, and currently provides coaching and consulting services part time.  He and his wife Francyl live in Boulder City, Nevada, and have two grown daughters and their first grandchild.
