CRC Opposition to CIT Bank and One West Bank (OWB) Merger

    in Real Estate

CRC Opposition to CIT Bank and One West Bank (OWB) Merger

    CRC’s Position:

There is No Evidence This Transaction will provide a Public Benefit:

This merger should not be approved without substantial conditions that would ensure that the Bank adequately reinvests in communities where its customers reside, helps revitalize neighborhoods  still suffering from the effects of the foreclosure crisis that Indymac and OWB helped create, and otherwise provides a public benefit that outweighs the continuing public costs imposed by Applicants. The California Reinvestment Coalition opposes this merger in its current form

    Discussion Points:

    1. California Reinvestment Coalition  Mission and Objectives
    2. Mistakes by Policymakers and Regulators allowing profit at the expense of taxpayers
    3. The Legal Standards for Merger Approval Have Not Been Met
    4. There is No Evidence This Transaction will provide a Public Benefit
    5. Creating a Too Big to Fail (SIFI):  Systemically Important Financial Institution
    6. Extending the Comment Period for the Public to Review CRA Performance

Week 5 Mountain West football recap

    in Sports

For the Week 5 recap podcast Jeremy is joined by Matthew K. to go over the latest action of Mountain West football. Well, we don't know much more than we did the week prior. Boise State gets outplayed by Air Force, but is it a one-game slip up or have the Broncos fallen of of its perch from being the feared team they have been accustomed to over the past decade.

Besides going through all of the games we attempt to make a decision on who is the best team in the league this year. This year the Mountain West has no clear frontrunners on a collision course to meet in the Mountain West title game, but now there are multiple teams in each division that can make the case to be the best team.

One on One with A. L. Cooper featuring Author Tabitha Matthews

    in Entertainment

Born the fourth of five children Tabitha Matthews has been there done that and wrote a book
about it. Raised in the fear and reverence of God this young woman strayed and experienced
life in the fast lane. After being a wayward teen and misguided youth she gave her life to Christ
in 1998. Her life’s experiences have afforded her the opportunity to minster to women of all
walks of life. She has overcome many obstacles, which have allowed her experiences to
enhance her ministry. With compassion, courage, and commitment she shares with women
biblical fundamentals and personal examples to be successful in life by reminding women who
    and whose they are.

Educated by life she is a professional woman that holds good stewardship sacred. This woman
of God sees mentorship and example as two of the ways God is going to deliver young women
from today's plague that is among them. God has placed a special anointing on her life to care
for hurting people and minister to their need. This humble servant has faced rejection by being
told "You won't make it", "You're not good enough", only to grow stronger in her faith in God.
She has proved him for results. Her phrase for life is..."Tinogona" Shona (African) for "It is
Achievable"! Author, Visionary, Mother, Wife and humble servant Tabitha believes that there is
nothing that is impossible. She teaches determination and faith while she imparts a "Never
Quit" attitude among all who meet her.

Week 3 Mountain West football recap

    in Sports

Jeremy and Chris go through the nine games of the third week of Mountain West football and discuss the highs and lows of the league so far. We both fell that Boise State is the best team in the league and that Nevada really has a chance to compete in the West.

We go deep into Fresno State to try to figure out what is going wrong with that team. Is it coaching, lack of talent, scheme or just maybe we are holding onto some shred of that Fresno State is still a good team and blame the difficult schedule.

We do get to Chuckie Keeton leaving the first half of the Wake Forest game by re-injuring the same knee that he tore his ACL last year. As of this time there is no update on the status of Keeton's knee.

Mountain West football staff prediction show

    in Sports

Jeremy and Chris are getting the entire Mountain West Connection staff on this podcast -- not at one time, that would be madness -- to give predictions on the Mountain West season. The staff will be asked these four questions:

Mountain West title game participants and winner:

    Player of the year:

    Coach of the year:

    Bold prediction:

Pretty basic and with a staff of around 20 or so writers we don't want this show to drag on forever.

Mountain West football Week 1 preview

    in Sports

Jeremy and Chris are back for the hour-plus shows as we are previewing the first week of the Mountain West football season. There are 12 games and the guys do gloss over a little bit of the FCS vs. Mountain West teams, but the big games like Ole Miss vs. Boise State, Tennessee vs. Utah State, UNLV vs. Arizona and other similar games get plenty of attention.

There is one super crazy upset pick by both of us, and while it won't come true it is quite possible that at the very worst this crazy pick should at least cover the monstrous spread.

Also, this year Chris and Jeremy will keep track of our picks and let everyone know how we do picking games this year, so sit back with your headphones and listen to this 80 minute show.
