Chalk Talk...Sports and Beyond...More Than Just a Game!

    in Sports

    Get Your Game Face On!

Chalk Talk is a weekly live interactive sports talk show. It's not your ordinary show. Here you'll get a unique, yet informative perspective on all things sports and a wide variety of guests. I go beyond the highlights and scores to give you the stories behind the stories.

Filmmaker Deborah Riley-Draper joins me to talk about her upcoming documentary: Olympic Pride - American Prejudice. It takes a look at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Most of us know the story of Jesse Owens, but there were 17 other Black athletes competing in those games. This film tells the untold story of the other 17.

The NFL Scouting Combine is over, so who were the most impressive athletes? Were there any surprises good or bad? We'll talk about on Chalk Talk. What about the NBA? We'll take a look at who did or didn't get traded. All of this and more on next week's show.

Looking forward to seeing you online! It's a fun hour of sports you don't want to miss.

However, if you can't join us live, save the link and check out the podcast later in the day.

    in Spirituality

We will continue our study in examinnig one the most important twin books in the Holy Bible, the books of 1st and 2nd Corinthians.

Now Corinth was a city-state located on an isthmus (a narrow strip of land connecting two larger land areas, usually with water on either side) that joined the Peloponnesus Peninsula (The southern most tip of Greece) to the mainland of Greece.

Because of where Corinth was geographically situated it was a city that was a meeting place of many nationalities and cultures. It served as a trade center between Asia and western Europe.. The city boasted of an outdoor theater that could seat 20,000 people, and often hosted athletic games the rivaled the ancient Olympic Games of Greece itself. It also was the home of the Great Temple of Aphrodite (Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of love). This pagan temple housed over 1,000 prostitutes. The city was known for its corruption and immorality. Their debauchery was so blatant that the phrase, ":to act the Corinthians" meant to practice fornication. Many of the problems, and divisive issues that flowed throughout this city was a direct result of the sin and wickedness that festered in the hearts of the people that lived there.

To this city, Paul first came to preach, in the year A.D. 50, during his second missionary journey. Paul stayed there for nearly two years, preaching and winning many souls to Christ. After leaving, Paul wrote the Corinthian church a letter, which was lost (5:9), but, learning of disturbing news about some believers from other believers (7:1) prompted the apostle to write 1 Corinthians. All of these issues will be addressed and examined, during this indepth study.

Come with us, as we begin to understand the church established in Corinth... a church divided.

Join me, Monday, February 23, at 6:00 pmPT/9:00 pmET when my guest will be BOB BURG, bestselling author and speaker. We'll be talking about Bob's books, politics, and more.

Bob Burg is a sought-after speaker at corporate conferences and for entrepreneurial events. He regularly addresses audiences ranging in size from 50 to 16,000 – sharing the platform with notables including today’s top thought leaders, broadcast personalities, Olympic athletes and political leaders including a former United States President.

Although for years he was best known for his book Endless Referrals, over the past few years it’s his business parable, The Go-Giver (coauthored with John David Mann) that has captured the heart and imagination of his readers.

It shot to #6 on The Wall Street Journal’s Business Bestsellers list just three weeks after its release and reached #9 on BusinessWeek’s. It’s been translated into 21 languages, and it’s his fourth book to sell over 250,000 copies.

He believes his new book, Adversaries into Allies: Win People Over Without Manipulation or Coercion is by far his most important work yet.

Bob is an advocate, supporter and defender of the Free Enterprise system, believing that the amount of money one makes is directly proportional to how many people they serve. Modern Combat Masters presents Mark Barlow

    in Sports

1-(646)-716-6825 Modern Combat Masters Host, Professor Darrell Sarjeant, and his Co-Host, Kancho, Dan Vena, along with our Executive Producer, Sifu Restita DeJesus will have Mark Barlow Hanshi on the program.Mark Barlow Martial Arts Bio, I was fortunate to train with Alex Marshall for almost twenty years in Judo and Jujutsu.  Through Marshall Sensei, I was also able to train and earn black belts with Toshi Takikawa Sensei in his family's Jujutsu system and Tetsuro Nariyama Sensei in Tomiki/Shodokan Aikido.  While I've been able to study under several excellent instructors, my initial training with Marshall Sensei has provided me with the strongest motivation and direction.  His Jujutsu system, Akayama Ryu, has remained focused on practical and efficient self defense and has gained popularity with both civilians and law enforcement.  Upon Mr. Marshall's death, I became the Senior Instructor.Since the early 80's, I've hosted national camps on the Gulf Coast featuring Jujutsu, Judo, Aikido, Hapkido and various other arts.  We stress no politics, limited ego and great training.  All styles and ranks are welcome.  All that is required is an open mind and a willingness to share.I currently hold dan level rank  in Judo, Aikido and three styles of Jujutsu.
