OH³=Old Hip Hop Head!
Join me today as I change the pace a little on the show and begin my look and dedication to hip hop.
Music is a big part of my life and thankfully, my mother exposed me to all genres of music from Jazz, Funk, Rock, Pop, Soul and Classical, but I introduced her and many others to the world of Hip Hop.
Today's show will be mostly music with a little commentary marking my look at Hip Hop and how it has changed the world of music. This change has been good in some cases and bad in others, but no matter what your ethnicity, culture, socioeconomic status or age, Hip Hop permeates your world. Please join me as I share some tunes from this Old Hip Hop Head’s collection and please be aware that some of the music I play may not be suitable for all ears...this means Parental Discretion is advised!
Chumash Elder Choqosh Auh'-ho'-oh (website) is our pre-recorded guest.
The Hopi Ten Chumash elder Choqosh Auh'-ho'-oh some years ago was summoned by a prestigious group of Oraibi Hopi elders.They told her they have a message for her to share.
They said, "You've been telling people the 11th hour is approaching. Tell them it is here, and there are things to be considered."
They gave her a 10-point Hopi Checklist to consider:
Where do you live (not just geographically)?
What is it that you do?
How are your relationships?
Are you in right relation with the Earth?
Where is your water?
Know your garden (and nature around you).
Speak your truth; it is time now.
Be good to each other.
Don't look outside yourself for the leader.
This could be a good time.

Born in Venezuela, Yesi began painting at a very young age. Oils were her favorites and they still are. Influenced by her mother, Yesi decided to make a tribute to her multiracial heritage, relationships, etc. by creating a series of paintings 'Interracial Lovers' - the non traditional type - White men with Black women, a theme that has historically been a taboo.
