Cosmic Citizen continues with Paper 196 : The Faith of Jesus

    in Spirituality

Our series continues discussing paper 196:

196:3.20.  Every time man makes a reflective moral choice, he immediately experiences a new divine invasion of his soul. Moral choosing constitutes religion as the motive of inner response to outer conditions. But such a real religion is not a purely subjective experience. It signifies the whole of the subjectivity of the individual engaged in a meaningful and intelligent response to total objectivity—the universe and its Maker.

The exquisite and transcendent experience of loving and being loved is not just a psychic illusion because it is so purely subjective. The one truly divine and objective reality that is associated with mortal beings, the Thought Adjuster, functions to human observation apparently as an exclusively subjective phenomenon...

True religious worship is not a futile monologue of self-deception. Worship is a personal communion with that which is divinely real, with that which is the very source of reality. Man aspires by worship to be better and thereby eventually attains the best.

The idealization and attempted service of truth, beauty, and goodness is not a substitute for genuine religious experience—spiritual reality. Psychology and idealism are not the equivalent of religious reality. The projections of the human intellect may indeed originate false gods—gods in man's image—but the true God-consciousness does not have such an origin. The God-consciousness is resident in the indwelling spirit. Many of the religious systems of man come from the formulations of the human intellect, but the God-consciousness is not necessarily a part of these grotesque systems of religious slavery.

Please join us in the continuing discussion and pleasure of engaging with each other in this amazing discovery.

DEAD MOTHERS, Stillborns, Laissez Faire QEH Staff, Absent Fathers, Water Woes

    in Radio

THE QUEEN ELIZABETH Hospital says it has launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding two maternal deaths which occurred within the last two weeks.  This is according to a release issued by the institution. It said according to the established protocol, all maternal deaths are investigated by a committee led by the director of medical services and also include the head of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, the director of Nursing Services, the clinical risk manager and the legal officer.  "The committee was expanded by the chief executive officer, Dr Dexter James, to include a representative from the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners to ensure balance and objectivity in the investigation. The director of Medical Services, Mr Anthony Harris will meet with the families of the deceased shortly to apprise them of the status of the investigations,” the release stated. It added that the QEH continues to provide outstanding maternal care to all expectant mothers and is considered a safe institution for the delivery of babies. (Source:  Nation News Barbados)   BUT, nothing will happen.  No one will be fired.  Doctors will continue to malpractice, nurses will continue to ignore patients and Barbadian citizens will get no answer and no justice.  If there is a lawsuit, which we hear there is, it will be settled out of court for the most they can possible get, to wit: $250,000.00.

WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

“The Grimaldi Negroid’s have left their numerous traces all over Europe and Asia, from the Iberian Peninsula to Lake Baykal in Siberia, passing through France, Austria, the Crimea, and the Basin of Don, etc.  In these last tow regions, the late Soviet Professor  Mikhail Gerasimov, a scholar of rare objectivity, identified the Negroid type from skulls found in the Middle Mousterian period.  Marcella Boule and Henri-Victor Vallois  insist on the fact that the  (localizing) localising layers the Grimaldians are always indirect contact with those of the Mousterian period in which the last Neanderthal lived; in other words, there is no other variety of Homo sapiens that precedes the Grimaldi Negroid in Europe or in Asia.  If one based one’s judgement on morphology, the first White appeared only around 20,000 years ago: the Cro-Magnon Man .  He is probably the result of a nutation form the Grimaldi Negroid due to an existence of 20,000 years in the excessively cold climate of Europe as the end of the last glaciation.” Cheickh Anta Dioup . What we know of this system of White Supremacy Racism begins here. Darwin’s Theory of Evolution.   "Soon after the Origin was published in 1859, critics derided his description of a struggle for existence as a Malthusian justification for the English industrial capitalism of the time. The term Darwinism was used for the evolutionary ideas of others, including Spencer's "survival of the fittest" as free-market progress, and Ernst Haeckel's racist ideas of human development. Writers used natural selection to argue for various, often contradictory, ideologies such as laissez-faire dog-eat dog capitalism, racism, warfare, colonialism and imperialism.” Wikipedia

Vital Through Diversity: The Missing Role of Classicism in Contemporary Masonry

    in Lifestyle

Don't you think we've been at the banquet table a little too long? Ennui penetrates the walls of lodges not as the welcome fragrance  of sandalwood, or the calming of lavender. Indifference has almost lost any pretence of subtlety. And surely we must not fall prey to a complete loss of objectivity?  The walls we build are very thick and sound; no need for the aesthetic or is there?

I think sometimes we haven't been very good stewards of the Craft and as a result, we feel impermanent. So many things change with time. Time moving at the pace of nature, is a harsh unyielding judge but one that has stealth on her side. No epoch but gradual death by a thousand self-induced cuts. Time has shifted us off our foundations. And today, we have begun to pick through the rubble to salvage as much as we rebuild. And that is where an singular advantages comes into play.   Twenty-first freemasonry can claim we have saved best for last!  Now that our labours have slowed into a steady rhythm, we can begin to concentrate our attention on the big picture- the bigger purpose- the key questions that are posed to a thinking man!

We learn most about our own character, when we begin the observation of others. Which might be why Freemasonry has left best for last, giving us all an amazing opportunity.  The so-called 'me generation' has finally come of age.

Breaking through indifference means ending the practice of frog boiling, one that is noticed in many lodges, throughout masonry.  A study of the classics; making distinctions between various classical systems and ideals can enrich understanding and promote appreciation for different peoples the world over. By doing that, we revive the legacy of Freemasonry to the position it richly deserves.

Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey - with Brenda Earle Stokes!

    in Music

Look, I'm late to the party regarding our next guest - but you might not be!  Brenda Earle Stokes is radiant sun, equal parts passion and brilliance, physical feeling and mental clarity.  Sheesh.  There might be a minimum of objectivity here because you can possibly define fact when you've fallen on your face in gratitude :-O

Our Beauty From the North Country (Ontario) was dealt some cards early in life.  Her Mom died when Brenda was eight - and that most assuredly colored her world, quite possibly in terms of how she perceived the music that she was already playing. Piano at four, clarinet came later.  She heard Oscar Peterson at 15 and life changed.  Another life-changing moment: hearing her own voice at The Banff Center for the Arts.  There was a Jazz residency in the mountains and Brenda realized just what kind of instrument she had.

With that revelation came new confidence and opportunity.  This is a woman who was trained classically (MUCH education involved here!), sang Pop, became comfortable as a solo singer/pianist, and directed music for Off-Broadway projects. Yes, she made that move to New York - that HAD to be the case with how much she had to offer.  In finding her way, Brenda has worked with a myriad of stellar musicians - and has always relished her other role as educator.  Many will speak of the careful mentorship she has shown to young students, as well as those who appreciate her kindness in a different way.  This amazing talent has found the time to devote to the Ronald McDonald House for quite a while.  When you know that someone's heart has been so open, their lyrics ring truer than ever - don't they? ;)

Please join us for a most welcome interview with Brenda Earle Stokes on 12/8.  We start at one p.m. Eastern time - Brenda joins us at TWO!

WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

Where there is courage, where there is self-respect and dignity, there is a possibility that we can change the conditions and win. This is is a possibility that we can change the conditions and win. This is called /revolutionary enthusiasm/ and it is the kind of struggle that is needed in order to guarantee a victory. If we must die, then we will die the death of a revolutionary suicide that says, “If I am put down, if I am driven out, I refuse to be swept out with a broom. I would much rather be driven out with a stick because if I am swept out with the broom it will humiliate me and I will lose my self-respect. But if I am driven out with the stick, then, at least, I can claim the dignity of a man and die the death of a man rather than the death of a dog.” Of course, our real desire is to live, but we will not be cowed, we will not be intimidated.

I would like to explain to you the method that the Black Panther Party used to arrive at our ideological position, and more than that, I would like to give to you a framework or a process of thinking that might help us solve the problems and the contradictions that exist today. Before we approach the problem we must get a clear picture of what is really going on; a clear image divorced from the attitudes and emotions that we usually project into a situation. We must be as objective as possible without accepting dogma, letting the facts speak for themselves. But we will not remain totally objective; we will become subjective in the application of the knowledge received from the external world. We will use the scientific method to acquire this knowledge, but we will openly
acknowledge our ultimate subjectivity. Once we apply knowledge in order to will a certain outcome our objectivity ends and our subjectivity begins. We call this integrating theory with practice, and this is what the Black Panther Party is all about.

Milling About with Steven Beer: Your Child's Career In Music & Entertainment

    in Entertainment

Steven Beer, author of Your Child's Career in Music and Entertainment joins host Robin Milling. If your child is contemplating a career in showbusiness; this is the book for you. A former artist manager and currently an entertainment attorney, Steven was inspired by his personal journey as a stage parent when his 13 year-old son got his first role. He tells Robin, 'I realized how a prudent parent needs to approach the business. When it happened to my son it made me take a step back because I realized if I had all these questions I could imagine what other parents with kids interested in pursuing a career in music and entertainment might have.' In the book Steven provides answers to the questions a prudent parent may have; as he says there is no real guide or structure available to teach them the best way to go.

Steven has felt like a parent in many ways with his extensive experience mentoring and representing multi-platinum music artists, such as Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Jon Batiste and Stay Human; but nothing could prepare him for the hurdles his own child faced getting into the business. Of course he says with success comes a buffet of seductions so it's important for the parent and child to partner with each other and set boundaries. He talks about the challenges of maintaining objectivity when it comes to your own child's career and remaining vigilant every step of the way, along with keeping a sense of humor. He jokes, 'Justin Bieber's parents could probably write their own book from what they've learned! But You Tube has become the launching pad, the new audition room. And because it's so easy to get discovered it's really important for the parents to understand what goes along with that today.'

    Why do we Create Illusions

    in Spirituality

Why do we humans create such illusions in life? Most people clothe other people in their very own minds. In other words we see people as we think them to be but not how they actually are. Where did we learn to do this? Is this something that we have been conditioned to do? The simple truth is when we do this we are seeing what we think but we are not seeing what is actually there. We see things through our historical experience and then we compare it to the present experience. This creates the illusion. When we think something about another person we have the tendency to turn it into a fact in our own minds. By doing this it creates incredible dissagreements with others. Then some fall into the trp of denying another persons mind. If we live in objectivity then we see truth not the illusions of another. The human mind has the ability to think what ever it so chooses especially of others. Allow other people to be wimply who they are this allows you to be fully you as well by doing this. May we all awaken to the truth of who we are. Join Liara and Steven for another conversation about living life as our divine self. Call in and join in the conversation at 718-664-9735.
