She was hired to nurse them back to health...instead, she took their lives.
For months, the DaVita Dialysis Center in Lufkin, Texas had been baffled by the rising number of deaths and injuries occurring in their clinic. In April alone, they’d rushed thirty-four patients to the hospital. But no one expected such a horrific cause to be behind it all.
Kimberly Clark Saenz was a well-liked licensed vocational nurse at the center. The East Texas nurse was a mother of two, and known for her smiles and the stories she told to help patients pass the time. But on April 28, 2008, witnesses came forward to say that instead of lifesaving medication, they’d seen Saenz adding toxic bleach to IV ports. Turns out, it wasn’t the first time. Once caught, the shocking story of Saenz’s murderous practices began to unravel…KILLER NURSE-John Foxjohn

Inventions are born from various circumstances. Some from necessity, some by accident and some just for fun! However, many inventors never take the next steps in manufacturing or marketing their products because of what they predict to be a lengthy process full of headaches and worst of all- a failure. It is important to remember that if inventors gave into their fear of failure, we would have missed out on products and methods that not only make our lives easier, but save lives in healthcare!
Today, we sit down with Sarah Mott, a Registered Nurse and inventor of the Lotus Stethoscope Holder. She also happens to be the founder of Nurse Born Products, a company that encourages other nurses to pursue their ideas and sell their products. Sarah guides nurses through the process and will share some of her tips for success with us today!

As a strong advocate for teen health/fitness/wellness, she has already channeled her passion into a variety of different avenues. She is part of a Community Health Education Team that travels to various counties’ fairs to speak to the public about the value of a healthy lifestyle. She has published 75+ primarily health/wellness/science articles for her column in a local newspaper, The Turlock Journal; in another local newspaper, The Modesto Bee; in letters to the editors of various publications; in the online version of Teen Ink Magazine, for which she won two Editor’s Choice Awards; in Contentment Health Magazine; in the Huffington Post; on Yahoo! Voices; and in SparkLife. She also won the UC Davis COSMOS Tina Rose Noto Award for her commitment to pediatric healthcare. Henna now has a “Health with Henna” segment on Express Yourself! Teen Radio, the #1 most listened-to program on the VoiceAmerica Kids Network. In her free time, she is a dedicated bicyclist, a yoga-lover, and a Zumba enthusiast.
All in all, she works to inspire young people to lead active, healthy lives, and tries to open up a meaningful conversation about the issues that often preclude them from achieving that today. The cardinal goal is to help individuals find empowerment through living and loving the healthy life. However, what differentiates her from other health/fitness/wellness advocates is that she approach the topic of health from a fun and exciting standpoint, as opposed to the drab and humdrum way it is so often portrayed.
