Dave puts the capper on a great Dodgers baseball season with a sour ending to the Cardinals in the Division Series. Are the Dodgers ever going to realize that World Series title or will bad luck continue to haunt them in October? We'll see what's next for the Dodgers in the near future, PLUS Mike in North NJ joins Dave for a Notre Dame/FSU preview. We'll hear from the "Kids Club" with the Week 7 football picks, where Ron had a big week and ties for 1st with Ottis. John and Andy will also try to work their way back towards first place. Then, in Hour 2, Kevin on the Cape joins Dave for "Random Questions" as the MLB postseason rolls through the LCS round. Can the Royals make some new history with a World Series appearance?
On the show, we set up the Purdue game vs. Notre Dame in Lucas Oil Stadium, analyzing what it would take for the Boilermakers to pull off an upset in the last game between the rivals until 2020. We talk to ND beat writer LaMond Pope about the Fighting Irish 2-0 start, and feature Purdue safety Landon Feichter, who had to give away all his Notre Dame gear when he became a Boilermaker. Plus, an extended interview with athletic director Morgan Burke about the start of the season, the rebuilding project, quarterbacks, his legacy and more.
This is the kickoff of my 2014 college football previews. I will start with previewing the Atlantic Coast Conference with fellow sports blogger extraodinaire Jake Anderson. Among the topics to be covered: 1) how will Louisville fare in its first season in the ACC; 2) will Notre Dame's partial football membership enhance the ACC's profile; 3) who could challenge Florida State; 4) should Florida State be a favorite to repeat as national champs; 5) where does the ACC rank among other power conferences?
