Shunning - Not Just for the Amish
Shunning is the 'ultimate rejection'
Used for centuries in religious circles, I believe women today use it as a means of bullying. It's as much psychological violence as a slap or a punch is physical violence.
It has to stop.
Today, I'll be talking about what it is, why we do it, what effects it has and why it has to stop and how we can be part of the solution.
Plaid for Women Radio is talk radio for women. We don't talk about 'typical' talk radio topics - we talk about the Business of Life.
Join us as we explore relationships, wor, communication, behavior, time management, sexuality and more.

Mary Mary Quite Contrary Author Wayne Mallows
124 years have passed since the murders of the infamous "Jack the Ripper". Forced to work for his dad's construction company in order to earn his tuition, nathan Mallory stumbles upon a treasure of sorts; a box of letters appearing to be penned by Jack the Ripper himself. Hopeful that someone will pay a small fortune for his find, Nathan ignores the advice of his best mate, Eric, and decides to take the letters public. It is then that a horrific string of murders, closely resembling those of "Jack", begin to take place. As the body count rises, the common belief is that the killer is a copy cat mimicking Jack's work. That is until one strange clue begins to turn up time and time again. The unlikely discovery soon has one of London's Inspectors seriously questioning whether the person behind these killings, as well as the ones from 1888, is actually a "person" at all. There is one man who knows for certain what the police are up against, for he dealt with it firsthand on those same streets over a hundred years prior, and with gruesome consequences. Should he tell of what he knows and undoubtedly bring the spotlight on himself? Or do nothing, and allow an unstoppable predator to be free to kill at will? "A HAUNTINGLY EXCITING JOURNEY OF TWISTS AND TURNS THAT HAD ME CAPTIVATED TO THE VERY LAST WORD, AND LEFT ME WANTING MORE!" - Michelle Desrochers, Canada's Most Haunted

Mark MIller, author of "Promise of Tomorrow"
“Here is a different take on the Amish and it's a good tale that is well told. Mark writes with honesty, compassion, elegance and strength. Any lover of the Amish and of Amish fiction will be blessed by this book. Five stars, Mark!” –Murray Pura, Bestselling author of The Face of Heaven Luke Umble believed he was a man of God. One fateful decision could test all of his beliefs. With the support of his wife Annie, they uproot their family in an attempt to save the ones they love. Luke is challenged on all sides by his cantankerous father, his oldest son’s rebellion and even his youngest daughter’s Muscular Dystrophy. The one question he asks himself is “How far would you go to keep your faith?” The only answer Luke can find lies in God’s Promise of Tomorrow.
A Kansas Native, Mark currently resides in Florida with his wife and four children. Since moving to Florida, he has pursued a lifelong aspiration of becoming a published author. He believes he has always been a writer and strived to follow in the footsteps of his namesake, Mark Twain.
His education started early as his father was a newspaper writer, editor and photographer for both the Kansas City Star and Kansan. Formal development started in high school writing classes at Sumner Academy where he completed the International Baccalaureate program. Additional teaching came from both Kansas City Kansas Community College and the University of Kansas. It was at KU where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Film. Informally, he was educated by the writings of C.S. Lewis, Lloyd Alexander and as he matured, Tolkien. His interest in fantasy did not end on the page as some of his favorite movies include The Dark Crystal, Excalibur, and Star Wars.
