Fall Wrap Wisconsin Softball Yvette Healy

    in Sports

#143: Yvette Healy, Head Coach, Wisconsin, visits TCRS.  Yvette Healy begins her fifth season as head coach at Wisconsin in 2015, having just led the team to its second consecutive NCAA Regional Championship. Healy directed the team to the NCAA tournament in back-to-back seasons, which had only been done once before by UW in 2001 and 2002.

Over the last four years, the team has posted an impressive 144-75 overall record and 53-35 conference record in the Big Ten under Healy. Her .658 winning percentage ranks highest in school history.

At the end of the 2014 season, the Badgers finished in two final national polls for just the fourth time in the program's 19-year history and the second consecutive year. UW came in at No. 24 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 and received votes in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 for the eighth time in the season. Wisconsin finished the 2014 season at No. 32 in the NCAA Softball Ratings Percentage Index (RPI), after facing nine of the 31 teams who posted a higher RPI ranking.

The 2014 season boasted the second-highest win total (36) in school history. The Badgers defeated six ranked opponents and tied with the 1997 team for the most top-25 wins in a season.

Alice Bast from NFCA on Domino's GF Pizza- Gluten-Free Voice

    in Health

Gluten-free expert, author, coach and advocate Jules Shepard hosts a weekly show offering news, interviews with intriguing guests, gluten-free baking tips and otherwise lively conversation.
The announcement this week, that Domino's Pizza has released a new gluten-free pizza, has grabbed everyone's attention. The fact that this pizza is not designed for those with celiac disease or "severe" gluten sensitivity though, has upset many in the gluten-free community.
Domino's worked with the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) to devise a gluten-free crust and to train its employees on giving their disclaimer, in efforts to educate consumers on whether this pizza will be a safe choice for them. The NFCA's "Amber Designation" was given to Domino's, symbolizing "the restaurant is using gluten-free ingredients and has completed staff training to understand the health needs of those with gluten-related disorders. However, these restaurants cannot guarantee an environment free of cross-contamination"
In this special hour-long episode, Ms. Bast will take a limited number of questions on this issue, and will explain the NFCA's "GREAT" program, as well as how Domino's fits in.
To post a question for Ms. Bast, go to Jules Gluten Free Flour Facebook Page and post the question. To call in, leave Jules a private message on that Facebook Page with your question and your phone number in advance, so Jules can expect your call and recognize your number when you call in.
