After a horrid start, the Detroit Lions have won three games in a row. This mini win streak started three weeks ago when they beat the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, 18-16. At 4-7, the chance of making the playoffs is slim, but another win over the Packers would complete the season sweep.
Green Bay holds the first wildcard after losing to the Chicago Bears, 17-13 on Thanksgiving. The Packers are 1-4 in their last five games. As poor as the Packers have played, they had a chance to win every game, excluding the loss to the Denver Broncos. The loss of Jordy Nelson has come to the forefront during this tailspin. There is no "go to guy" on the field, and no one has stepped up to take on that role. Aaron Rodgers has looked human missing throws, and not getting help with numerous dropped passes. Sporting Charts credits the Packers with 15 total drops. DeVante Adams leads the team with five.
On paper, the Packers offense should carve up a porous Lions defense. They rank 28th in points allowed (26.2), but have not allowed more than 16 during their three game win streak. Against the run, they allow 112.5 yards per game. Through the air they allow 242.2 yards. They have only intercepted opposing quarterbacks four times, but have sacked the quarterback 30 times, which ranks fifth tying them with the Packers.
The Lions have a number of weapons on offense but have struggled, scoring only 20.9 points per game. They finally broke out of their shell, scoring 45 against the Philadelphia Eagles. In the first meeting, the Packers held the LIons to 287 total yards, and 45 rushing yards. Calvin Johnson had six receptions for 81 yards but did not find the end zone. The Lions offense was aided by a 104 kIckoff return by Ameer Abdullah, to start the second half.
When NFC North foes battle, you can put the records aside. The Packers and Lions will battle in front of a national audience on Thursday night.
For the third season in a row it was winner take all for the NFL North title in week seventeen. Unlike the last two seasons, the results was much different for the Packers. Minnesota beat the Packers by a final score of 20-13 and with the win the Vikings snapped the Packers NFC North title streak at four as the Vikings won their first North title since 2009.
With the loss the Packers fall to the fifth seed and have to travel to Washington for the wild card game. The Packers have a tough road a head of them if the want to play for their fifth Lombardi trophy. Evan the Troy recap the game and talk about where the Packers go from here

FLORIDA IS UNDER A PUSH FOR OVERREACHING DEVELOPMENT NOT SEEN SINCE THE SALE OF SWAMP LAND AS HOMESITES IN THE EARLY 1920'S. THE DRIVING FORCE IS GOVERNOR SCOTT AND HIS CRONY-CAPITALIST BUSINESS BUDDIES AND THEIR QUEST FOR EXCESS PROFITS ON THE BACKS OF THE GOOD CITIZENS AND HOME OWNERS. LOOK, WE GET IT. DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH WILL ALWAYS HAPPEN, BUT DO THEY HAVE TO HAPPEN AT THE TOTAL COST OF THE SWAMPS, SPRINGS AND THE TOTAL LIFESTYLE OF RURAL RESIDENTS? NO, THEY DON'T BUT THE CURRENT PUSH MOVING INTO NORTH FLORIDA IF LEFT UNCHECKED WILL RESULT IN A MIAMI NORTH OR WORSE. IF THAT HAPPENS, IT WON'T MATTER HOW MANY NEW RESIDENTS AND CORPORATIONS HE BRINGS TO THE STATE WHEN THE WELL RUNS DRY. WE'LL ALL BE LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME.

The Green Bay Packers regained first place, in the NFC North, by defeating the Minnesota Vikings 30-13. Both teams have 7-3 records, but with the win the Packers own the head to head tiebreaker. The victory snaps a three game losing streak for the Packers, and ended the Vikings five game winning streak. After scoring 17 combined first half points during the last three games, the Packers held a 16-6 halftime advantage. Mason Crosby kicked two more second half field goals, giving him five for the day. Aaron Rodgers hit James Jones for a 27-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to give the Packers a 14 point lead. On the ensuing drive, the Vikings drove into Packers territory but Adrian Peterson fumbled after a 10 yard run.
The Packers defense domintaed the Vikings offensive line by applying constant pressure to Teddy Bridgewater. Officially, they recorded six sacks, but Bridgewater had to throw a number of balls away because of the pressure. Peterson entered the game as the NFL's leadng rusher, and averaged 21.7 attempts per game. He was held to 45 yards on 13 carries.
Eddie Lacy rushed 22 times for 100 yards, marking his first 100 yard performance of the year. Lacy ran with power, and finished his runs all day. With the lead, the Packers leaned on Lacy to grind out tough yards and take time off the clock. On the stat sheet, Rodgers was not spectacular; 16-34 for 212 yards with two touchdowns. His first touchdown was aided by a 50-yard pass interference play on a third and fifteen with 1:53 remaining, in the first half. Back to back penalties allowed the Packers to finish the drive with the touchdown. On a third and nine, Rodgers found Richard Rodgers for a touchdown that was nullified because of offsetting penalties. David Bakhtiari was called for holding, and Linval Jospeh was flagged for roughing the passer so the Packers were not backed up 10 yards. Anthony Barr was called for illegal contact on the next play.
We meet again for another Gameday Sunday and NFC North Battle.
The Vikings hold the number one spot as they hit up Lambaeu Field to continue their upward swing against the Green By Packers. It seems the Packers have been exposed and have fallen from grace, but can they bounce back and reclaim their spot in this division.
The Chicago Bears are showing a glimpse of hope, but is it too little too late. We will share our thoughts on their future this season and today's match-up against the Denver Broncos.
Ah yes the Detroit Lions, normally a team with only 2 wins would be considered done for the season, and though there is NO CHANCE this team will see the post season, it's pretty awesome seeing the recent shift changes light a fire in that camp. I do see another win acoming.
Also, we welcome former Rich Central H.S. QB stand out Mr. Kevin Carter. Mr. Carter was the first Afican American quarterback in Rich Central's history and still holds a passer rating of 3000. He will give us his thoughts on today's games and each NFC North starting QB.
So tune-in today at 10am CST for some fun, laughs and predictions from some true die-hard fan bloggers!
FINALLY, NORTH FLORIDA WRITER IS BACK ON THE AIR WITH A PROGRAM WEDNESDAY NIGHT. OUR UPDATED AUDIO SUPPORT SHOULD MAKE THE SHOW SO MUCH BETTER. WE'LL TALK ABOUT A TOPIC THAT GETS MUCH DISCUSSION BUT, AT LEAST IN THIS BROADCASTER'S OPINION, IS AS PHONY AS CAN BE BUT, OF COURSE, EACH OF US IS FREE TO DECIDE FOR OURSELVES.
REMEMBER IN EARLY 2012 WHEN GEORGE STEPHANOPOULIS ASKED MITT ROMNEY IF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY WANTED TO MAKE THE SALE OF CONTRACEPTIVES ILLEGAL? AT THE TIME IT SEEMED TO BE VERY STRANGE TO INTERJECT THIS SUBJECT INTO A DEBATE OF SUBSTANCE, BUT LATER, AS WE REMEMBERED STEPHANOPOULIS' CLOSE TIES TO HILLARY CLINTON, IT MADE MORE SENSE. AND AS WE'VE SEEN OVER TIME, HILLARY HAS COME TO THE FOREFRONT ON THIS PHONY ISSUE BY CLAIMING TO BE THE ONE CANDIDATE SUPPORTING WOMEN WITH A RECORD TO BACK IT UP. AND SHE USED IT AGAINST DONALD TRUMP IN RECENT TIMES BUT, BINGO, THE TRUMPSTER THREW IT RIGHT BACK IN HER FACE. HE BASICALLY ASKED HOW SHE COULD BE THE WOMEN'S CANDIDATE WHEN SHE DID ALL IN HER POWER TO DESTROY THE VERY WOMEN WHO HAD ACCUSED HER HUSBAND OF SEXUAL ABUSE WITH EVIDENCE TO BACK IT UP.
SO IS THERE REALLY A WAR GOING ON AGAINST WOMEN AND, IF SO, WHO IS LEADING IT AND WHY? AND KEEP IN MIND THERE ARE MANY THINGS GOING ON TODAY THAT ARE OF GREAT THREAT TO WOMEN AND THE MOST CRITICAL RIGHT NOW IS THE IMPORT OF SUPPOSED "REFUGEES" WHO DO NOT ACCEPT WESTERN CULTURE AND HAVE NO RESPECT FOR WOMEN. ONE ONLY NEED LOOK AT EUROPE TO SEE THE POSSIBLE HORRORS THAT COULD BE COMING TO AMERICA SOON. AND WHO IS PUSHING THIS PROGRAM AND WHY?
THERE'S MUCH TO TALK ABOUT AND WE'LL COVER AS MUCH AS WE CAN ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT'S NORTH FLORIDA WRITER LIVE. WE'RE READY TO GO WITH AN IMPROVED AUDIO SYSTEM AND CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED. HOPE YOU'LL JOIN US AT 7PM EST.
Join us as we talk exciting NCAAF Bowl Games and crazy scores and outcomes. Was it what the masses were expecting?
The NFC North is finally simmering down as the Lions are definitely out of the running, the Bears have finally lost hope, the Vikings are in a must win situation as they battle the Bears and is anyone surprised that the Packers are back in first place.
