Weird News, Pop Culture, & The Middle East

    in Politics

Hr1 Andrea Nelson joins Joe to cover current events, including those weird news you wont find anywhere.

The Oscars as a political platform? Maybe they should do a little homework before spouting Liberal talking points.

How does Neil Patrick Harris in his underwear illuminate the Oscars?

Judge says a Detroit man must pay $30K in child support for kid who is not his

Hr2 Why doesn't the FFRF or the AHA sue the President when he says God Bless America? They only pick on schools.

Major General Paul E. Vallely, US Army (ret) check in with an update on the violence in the Middle East. Where exactly is that coalition of 60 allies that we're supposed to have?

Dems think that he should be able to ignore federal court rulings and laws. Wouldn't that make us a ruling monarchy?

Hr3  Atty General Holder says the best way to secure the border is by protecting illegal immigrants. Huh?

Sally Kohn from CNN wants her child to be gay (like her). It's ok for her to want to push that on her daughter, but it's not ok for Christian to push their child to be straight. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Which party supported: abolition, women's voting rights? Republicans. Which party supported Obamacare?

Why won't people admit that they don't know about something? They just make stuff up!

Pro-abortion Sen. David Haley complained about the use of the term “dismemberment” when discussing Kansas law “Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act.

Weird News, Pop Culture, & Islam's Problem with Violence

    in Politics

Andrea Nelson, from the Clover Agency, joins Joe to discuss recent news events that you probably won't hear anywhere else. You may be surprised at some of the weird news stories and what passes for news nowadays!

Daniel Payne, senior contributor at The Federalist, says Islam has a problem with violence and the media is being negligent in reporting (or lack thereof) the truth... that "its most dedicated adherents make a habit of sawing people’s heads off and shooting cartoonists for drawing the wrong fellow."

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?

There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.

Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.

But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!

If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!

It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!

Pop-culture news for the week & how fandom keeps entertainment alive #70

    in Entertainment

Tonight we talk about pop-culture news for the week, what is new, & go into bits and pieces about how fandom keeps entertainment movies/music alive. It literally does as I go into discussions about how some movie/filming locations still benefit from fandom decades later.

What would entertainment be without the fans? We also talk about our very own personal fan experiences, and go into details about what makes us happy, what makes us fans & how there is no shame in fandom at any age.

62 - Whiskey Tango Comics talk Hillbillies in Pop Culture

    in Pop Culture

We talked to the Whiskey Tango dudes at APE back in October and we thought a full interview was in order. We wanted to hear more about these crazy tales of historical Appalachian craziness in comic form. So that's what we're gonna do! Here's a bit more from their website ...

"Our goal at Whiskey Tango Comics is to bring to light styles of storytelling that have laid dormant in American consciousness for much too long.  Stories that are soaked in as much blood and bullets as any Wild West tale.  These stories, however, do not take place in the openness of the plains and the midwestern deserts.  The stories you will find in Whiskey Tango are born in the isolation and struggle of life deep in the valleys of forgotten mountains regions of the U.S..

These are turbulent tales of morality. Stories forged in the fires of the Civil War and the ultimate dismantling of the slave owning south. Stories that runs deep with American Indian mysticism and hillbilly folklore magic as well as the hardships of modern day impoverished realities. These are the stories of the Appalachian Hillbilly, weaved with gothic fantasy and hard boiled noir, that we are here to tell. This is Whiskey Tango."

In addition, we'll cover hillbillies in pop culture! Possibly stuff like "Hey Vern! Remember me?" ;)
