Please join me this Sunday January 10th, 2015, at 4:00 pm PST, as I welcome Debra Evans to the program. We will be discussing how to provide support for both special needs children and their families.
Debra Eileen Evans is the proud mom of a seven year old boy with exceptional needs. Mrs. Evans is a dedicated advocate and leader of programs and initiatives benefiting children and families with special needs. She most recently served as a parent team member for the District Validation Review, conducting comprehensive reviews of school site level compliance with special education laws, regulations and District policies and procedures for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
In November of 2012 Mrs. Evans founded MNO Southern California, a support group for parents of children with special needs. The group offers regular opportunities for parents to socialize, share resources and support each other. In addition to an online forum, monthly dinners, a quarterly speaker series, and an annual retreat for moms, the group offers opportunities for their children to socialize with picnic play dates, special events and planned field trips. The group has grown from its original four members to over two hundred members in 2016.
Please feel free to call in at (917) 889-7025!
Please join us as we discuss the very important subject of special needs children. We will take a look at not only their challenges, but of those who are charged with caring for them, educating them, advocating for them, and protecting their rights. We are hopeful to create not only a dialogue, but begin a network of support and resources, as well as a better understanding of these precious and gifted human beings.

Guest Amalia Starr
I Have Autism…What’ll I Do Without You, Mom? How to Prepare for When Your Special Needs Child Outlives You
In Starr’s latest book, “I Have Autism…What’ll I Do Without You, Mom?” she writes all about this subject matter and includes a separate in depth section on “How to Achieve Independence.” The more independent our children are, the better it will be for them now and after their parents are gone. Yes, talking about one’s mortality is never an easy or pleasant topic, but with our special needs children it may be the single most important thing a parent can do. Starr discovered that when parents address this issue head on they feel a tremendous relief. No reason to put this off anymore, Starr’s book will take you hand in hand as she shares how she achieved this goal and how you can too.
Are you concerned about your child’s future? Then you have come to the right place. Amalia Starr has been a pioneer and trailblazer on the autism and special needs path for the past forty years.
Public Speaker, Consultant and Trial Expert for False Allegations.

This past weekend when I kept trying to write this show information I had someone with her own special needs that needed attention which makes me think. What I mean by a special need could be any number of things.
Some of the special things we need to consider beyond those that might be what we would immediately think of like Diabetes, and other illness. Many of which I do wish to talk on because there are important factors to consider, but also consider some of these things. Children, Elderly, Pregnancy...
