Clayburn (that is his real middle name) Cox is originally from Ragland, Alabama (Population: 2000). He currently lives in Auburn with his amazing wife and two little girls. He is a high school graphic design teacher by day and a stand up comedian by night. Television shows that Clayburn has not appeared on include: every television show that has ever existed.
Churches of the USA welcomes Gary Cox, Senior Pastor at First Christian Church in Fort Myers, Florida, to talk about anything and everything about the church. Listen in as he shares the church history, worship style, congregation makeup, youth groups, and kids’ program.
Gary was born in Kentucky. He went to Seminary in Cincinnati. He met his wife at his first ministry in Cleaves, Ohio. Gary and Linda have been married for 36 years, have three children and six grandchildren. Gary had Worship and Youth ministries in Kentucky and Indiana before moving to Fort Myers in 1989. He has led in several roles at First Christian. He was the Discipleship Pastor, the Small Groups Pastor, and the Children’s Pastor before being asked to be the Senior Preaching Pastor in 1995. Gary’s passion is people. His hobbies are anything that you can do with other people. He loves adventure and has driven tanks, sky dived, been on a cattle drive, participated in triathlons, built schools and churches in Africa, Russia, Honduras, and Dominican Republic. His life verse? Philippians 1:27 – “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.”

Perpahs you might recall the commercial for Mercedes Benz, where a static screen with the statement "This year we guarantee a thrilling fourth quarter." The game was a blow out, of course, and the fourth quarter of that game was anything but thrilling. Was this, perhaps, a reference to the actual fourth quarter of the year? We're certainly seeing a "thrilling" start of the fourth quarter of 2014...how might it end?

Markey Blue is led by Markey and Ric Latina out of Nashville, TN Markey's career began as a showgirl in Las Vegas and Ric has toured with Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams III and Gary Puckett among others before they joined together to put this band in motion. Their debut album, Hey Hey features Steve Cropper and is just great. I wil chat with them about their lives and careers and where Markey Blue is heading.
Devon Allman will join me. He has a new solo album entitled ragged & dirty and we will discuss the music on that album, his work with Royal Southern Brotherhood, the charities he supports and even his Hot Sauce! I am excited to be able to speak with Devon and discuss his journey, which was influenced more by The Beatles and Kiss more than from his dad. This should be fun!

He now has a new album out that is actually two albums, Hear Me Calling (Acoustic solo) and Natural Born That Way (Electric band) which includes 4 songs done in each style. I'll chat with Nathan about what has been going on in his life and career and we'll check out songs from each album.
