The Cure of Naaman's Leprosy Was His Obedience To God

    in Spirituality

    Scripture Text : 2 Kings 5:1-15

    Key Verses : 2 Kings 5:1-

Now Naaman, Captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valor, but he was a leper.

And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

And she said unto her mistress, would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.

    "Who Is Jesus?"

    in The Bible

Jesus is the most controversial person that ever lived, and just the mention of His name sparks interest with skeptisism for some, and for the serious follower, a passion to KNOW HIM more.

We will look at several points of interests describing who this longtime historical figure is.  From a biblical perspective, He clearly was the long awaited Messiah, and He was God in the flesh. Jesus was "The Word,"  He was "The Word made flesh," He was "The Lamb of God," He was "Full of Grace," "Teacher w/authority," "Healer," and "Miracle Worker."

We also have "eye witness" accounts of His Resurrection, credible people who saw and walked with Jesus after His crucifiction. For believers today, these highlights are the very foundation of why we believe, have committed our lives to Christ, and have never turned back.

PUSH MY STORY WITH PASTOR MINA LIVINGSTON CHRISTIAN RADIO ICON & FRIENDS

    in Christianity

What will you give to get your good health and strength back?

LET'S TALK...GOD'S WORD MADE ME WHOLE... Luke 17:11-

Proverbs 4:20-22  “My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words.  Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart;  for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”Exodus 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.Luke 17:11-19  “Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.  As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”  When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.  One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.  He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.   Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?  Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?”  Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you

"Being Religious Does Not Guarantee That We Will Accept Jesus Christ" Pt 2

    in Christianity

When the Man or Woman of God preach about holiness and righteous there are no nodding of heads. We find even though it came right out of their own Scriptures, they were offended just like the people of Nazareth was when Jesus brought up the stories from Elijah and Elisha’s ministries and applied it to them. The point of both stories was the same. Israel was at a low point of idolatry and moral corruption. God told Elijah to pray that it would not rain, and so a famine came over the land. That meant that Elijah himself needed food. God could have picked any one of many widows in the land as the place to send Elijah for sustenance, but instead, God sent him to a widow in Sidon, a Gentile. Through her, God provided both for her and for the prophet. Similarly, in Elisha’s time, there were many lepers in Israel whom God could have cleansed. But instead, God chose to heal a pagan man, Naaman the Syrian, a general in the army of Israel’s enemy. John Carver Show - Pour the Coffee

    in Self Help

This show is from a sermon I shared in January 2015.

Source: From Davon Huss’ Sermon: Willingly

“Barry Cameron tells about an airplane flight that he took. On the flight there were four servicemen. Before the door on the plane was closed, the pilot announced we had a number of special guests on our flight (the servicemen in uniform) and asked us to show our appreciation to them. The plane erupted in applause and cheers. It was a wonderful way to begin a flight.

A few moments later, a man and a woman in first class, got up and came back to two soldiers in the coach cabin and said, "Would you like to sit in first class?" The look on the soldiers' faces was priceless. So was the look from others in first-class looking back and many of us in the coach section. The two soldiers stood, got their bags from the overhead compartment and walked up to the first-class section and took their new seats. Amazingly, a few minutes later, another couple got up from first class and came back and did the same thing for two more soldiers. To say the least, it was a very moving experience.

As our plane lifted off and began to climb into the clouds, I couldn’t help but admire the four common, ordinary people, who may not have even been Christians. They did something uncommon and extraordinary. They served, rather than waiting to be served.”

Naaman pictured what the prophet was going to do for him and how he was going to do it.

Naaman ALMOST blew it if it wasn’t for a few more “unnamed” people.

Mary Hallet reminds us that “one of the most amazing things about Bible stories is their sheer restraint. With one or two deft strokes a scene is painted, a character is sketched, or an incident described.... There is, I say, something astonishing in the terse poetry of the Bible.”
