Michael T. "Mykelti" Williamson (born March 4, 1960) is an American actor best known for his role as Benjamin Buford (Bubba) Blue in the 1994 film Forrest Gump, as Detective Bobby "Fearless" Smith in the critically acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful crime drama Boomtown, as Baby-O in the 1997 film Con Air, as Brian Hastings, Director of CTU New York, for Season 8, the final season of the hit TV series 24, and recently as Ellstin Limehouse in the critically acclaimed Justified. Actor and director Mykelti Williamson's career spans film, TV and Broadway. Films such as Ali, Con Air, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Heat, Lucky Number Slevin, Primary Colors, Three Kings, Waiting to Exhale, and television roles, including: 24, CSI: NY, Hill Street Blues, Miami Vice, Monk, Single Ladies, Rizzoli and Isles, The Good Wife, Third Watch, Boomtown and currently in the FX series, Justified.
The versatile and always busy actor also completed a successful run on Broadway opposite Denzel Washington and Viola Davis in August Wilson's Tony award-winning play, Fences. But the role he is perhaps best known for is one of the most beloved characters in cinematic history, the kind-hearted “Bubba” in the Oscar-winning film, Forrest Gump with Tom Hanks.
