Continuing a community and civic tradition, the Publix Mad Dog Mandich Fishing Classic returns to host its Sixth annual tournament October 18 & 19, 2013 in Islamorada. The tournament will honor the memory of Jim “Mad Dog” Mandich. Jim was a passionate angler, former Miami Dolphins star player, local radio personality and a Keys resident and business owner. The creation of the Mad Dog Mandich Fishing Classic filled Jim with great pride and joy as he loved to bring his family, friends and the community together for a great weekend of fishing and fellowship, all while supporting local organizations. It was one of Jim’s requests that the Mad Dog Classic carry on now and into the future in order to fulfill his efforts of creating awareness and financial support for these organizations, including Mariners Hospital Oncology Services. The Mad Dog Classic has other Miami Dolphin greats scheduled to be there throughout the weekend. The tournament targets Funfish (dolphin, tuna, kingfish, wahoo, along with snapper and grouper) with a $5,000 cash prize for the top boat. This is awarded for to the boat with greatest cumulative weight of the tournament's target species – Dolphin, Tuna, Kingfish and Wahoo. Trophies are also given to the Top Lady, Top Angler, Top Junior as well as largest Snapper and Grouper.

Hungarians are especially passionate about their meat stews, casseroles, steaks, roasted pork, beef, poultry, lamb or game. The mixing of different varieties of meat is a traditional feature of the Hungarian cuisine. Goulash, stuffed peppers, stuffed cabbages or Fatanyeros (Hungarian mixed grill on wooden platter) can combine beef and pork, and sometimes mutton. Goulash is a stew with more gravy or a soup using meat with bones, paprika, caraway, vegetables and potato or different tiny dumplings or pasta simmered along with the meat. Other famous Hungarian meat stews would be paprikas, a paprika stew, meat simmered in thick creamy paprika gravy and porkolt, a Hungarian stew with boneless meat (usually beef or pork), onion, and sweet paprika powder, both served with nokedli (small dumplings). In old fashioned dishes, fruits like plums and apricots are cooked with meat or in piquant sauces/stuffings for game, roasts and other cuts.

Coming to you live from Costa Rica and brought to you by the La Reserva Forest Foundation (LRFF). We invite you to participate in this most interesting and interactive show by calling in or participating in the "green" chat room. LRFF is working to solve climate change and lost resources by restoring the tropical forests in the "lungs of the world".
Our guest this week is Rick Mutton. Rick is an advisor for LRFF education outreach programs. He has a Master of Science degree in biology from East Tennessee State University. Rick lives with his wife Janice in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He recently retired after 34 years of teaching at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem where he was the department chairperson for the life sciences department.
Climate change is our continuing topic. It's being caused by human activity not volcanoes, solar activity or a universal conspiracy. This is a platform for everyone to tell us your views on cc, ask questions about this most important issue. The majority of people are very uninformed about cc because it has become unmentionable in the mainstream media. Talking about it is the first step to solving it.
As always great roots and culture music plus interesting Caribbean news and events.

HYSTERICAL! Listen to Rebecca be a guinea pig AGAIN for Deb… and relish in her failure!!!! Actually though, if you are a VO talent working from home and you get a job / audition requiring you to have a phone patch or go into a studio… Are you out of your comfort zone like Rebecca was in this mock-up?
We’ve got “the perfect recipe” to make phone patch mutton with Deb of Deb’s Voice (formerly Deb Munroe). Deb joins Rebecca to demonstrate how to handle such a situation by bringing Rebecca into “Hells Kitchen” and turning up the heat!! GREAT pointers on RELEVANT topics.
Keep in touch with Deb in these ways:
